Check out the NAMM announcments!

The 2D looks like exactly what I wanted, the ability to add some MIDI functionality in A+H quality to my Xone:92 rotary. The 3D was too expensive, and I didn't want to give up the rotary.

Looks like it's list price is around $900, guessing it'll sell for around $600-700? That's a bit of change, but for A+H quality and integrated soundcard, not as horrific as the 3D. Although buying 2 of these and a Xone 92 would set you back quite a bit...

The other benefit? This looks like it'd be easy to bring with you to a gig.

Pretty cool, but isnt it just basically a hack job of what's out there? For a lot cheaper I guess.

I wish I had a reason and the money to buy an 2D. :wtf: :haha:

Well not really...

1. The 3D looks great, but the integrated mixer is really a bit much for anyone who already has a nice mixer, or who want to play out with it. It's also very expensive.

2. The 3D/2D is built really well, like a Xone mixer is. All of the MIDI controller I've played with are super-cheap, which is great money wise, but not playability wise.

3. The integreated sound card is a great feature, one less item to lug around with you.

I'm liking both of them... The Xone S2 has a list price $1161 and the 2D has a list price of $645. Hmmm

I just came

The S2 really seems like a waste of money to me at this point - aren't there countless items out there that do the EXACT same thing for far cheaper?

Paying that kind of money solely for "A&H Build" seems really, really ridiculous.

That's all? That's like $500-600 less than the Xone 92. I wonder why?
DjWoody
A&H Sound quality hasn't been matched yet. The closest has been by Rane, and it's still not matched. The S2 is also a cheaper alternative to Xone 92. I'm considering getting a S2, but I'm waiting for Rane to announce their rumored 19" mixer with Serato built in, and I'm also hoping that Pioneer will upgrade their DJM3000 to match the DJM800. The DJM3000 is long due!

You mean the 2D (the midi controller), right?

If so, then I agree, save for the fact that it has a MIDI clock signal built right in. That's a strong selling point... but I still wouldn't buy one.

If A&H would put that sound card with it's accurate MIDI clock into something like a 92, they'd have the greatest DJ mixer ever made, and I would be forced to pawn most of my posessions to get one.

19" Mixers are cheaper than 10" mixers. Also the Xone 92 has dual filters, the S2 only has one. But the S2 has newer features the XOne 92 doesnt. It's the same story with Pioneer. The DJM3000 is the 19" version of the DJM600, it has more inputs & features than the DJM600 and it costs a lot lets.

Any particular reason why? Seems sort of random.
