Is it the "expanded score" bootleg? I read some mixed statements about it's quality on the hans zimmer/remote control productions site, i haven't been able to get hold of it and check it out.

Nice. It's really a shame all those official score cds are released with just a few short cues on when there most of times are hours of recorded material that was edited for the film or maybe not used at all, but that certainly would be appreciated by fans of movie scores.

yeah i know its verry irritating! every release should have at least 2 cds, 1 is far from enough. King Kong for ex only contains 1/3 of the music from the movie. But DC is good for finding complete / expanded versions of the soundtracks

Again i must mention Ryuichi Sakamoto - Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence. Perhaps the most beautiful piece of music i've ever heard.

And the vocal version with David Sylvian too. Pure brilliance. Gives me shivers every time.

My Top 5, in descending order:

The Good The Bad & The Ugly (Ennio Morricone)
Conan The Barbarian (Basil Poledouris)
Blade Runner (Vangelis)
Jaws (John Williams)
Alien (Jerry Goldsmith)

With honourable mentions to:

The Last of The Mohicans (Randy Edelman & Trevor Jones)
The Thing (Ennio Morricone)
Once Upon A Time In The West (Ennio Morricone)
A Bridge Too Far (John Addison & some use of Bach)
Big Trouble in Little China (John Carpenter)
Jason & The Argonauts (Bernard Herrmann)

EDIT: And because people always look at me funny when I mention the Conan score, here's an example of it in action:
pvdAngel
Lola Rennt (Run Lola Run).
Mr Moss
a clockwork orange
collateral
requiem for a dream
the departed
gladiator
25th hour
28 days later
lost in translation
a night at the roxbury (by no means epic.. just a nice 90s dance mix)

like mentioned above a lot of the Kubrik movies have very good fitting and atmospheric scores, also the hackers soundtracks have a few decent elec tracks on them

ilya49
+1 for collateral
Paul Oakienfold - ready steady go

Are we making a distinction between "Sound Track" and "Score?"

:conf:

I always thought there was a difference....
