Yes, a soundtrack can be random while the score is music written for the movie. But since a lot of people mix up the words i assumed this was about scores.

Agree with the guy who mentioned the Vanilla Sky Soundtrack before, the best moments are when Cruze's character is in the park while Svefn-G-Englar - 'Sigur Ros' is played and i also loved 'we can still be friends' by Todd Rundgren.
Also,the Memento Soundtrack is always touching and the theme by David Bowie is a nice add.
Saw 'Crash' a week ago...planning on getting the soundtrack of that one...

Hank Zimmer is one of the best, no doubt! just hear the track "chevaliers de sangreal" from The Da Vinci Code, i get chills everytime
