After listening to these songs almost non-stop for the past 5 days I finally went with Arksun - Arisen, barely edging out Exactly. The reason I ended up voting for this song is simple: it was the only song of the bunch that after listening to time and time again I didn't get tired, annoyed, or bored with. But to its credit it has a fantastic melody and is spiritually uplifting. Good job, Laurence! |
Well said! :) Totally agree with U! |

Sean Tyas - Lift, nice energy
bt track is cool, but not the track of the year. i think it's just something different so everyone is choosing it. oh well.
maybe tiesto should remix it and put it on a movie soundtrack? |

It's maybe a bit late for voting now, but I will anyway. :D
It's a bit of a disappointing last 8 to be honest, but I guess I have no grounds for complaint as I didn't vote in the other rounds. :p
I was tempted to vote for Arisen, as it's a really nice tune. I remember it from a while back (and I was really out of the loop in 2006). The Antikythera Mechanism is an excellent piece of work, but it's not even my favourite on the album. So I couldn't vote for that. Salvation is alright, but not nearly as enjoyable as Voices From The Inside.
I don't like Aalto - 5 at all, probably Aalto's least enjoyable work to date in my opinion. Lift and Exactly are nothing special and I don't think they're worthy of a last 8 placing.
I ended up voting for Another You Another Me. Not my favourite tune of the year, but enjoyable enough to make it my pick of the list. :) |

Of whats left, my order would be:
Aalto - 5
Arksun - Arisen
Lange vs. Gareth Emery - Another You, Another Me |

| Congratulations to BT on winning this year's TranceAddict Track of the Year Award! Despite the concerns brought up by my fellow TAs, winning the award by beating out 100s of nominations and dozens of quality tracks in the polling period is a testament to BT's skills and abilities as a producer. Well done! |
