hum, i think pauls live surprise is going to be quite the treat. I didnt attend ultra this year but i have a feeling what he did there will be what he does in ATL. at least i hope

wrong on both counts. paul uses ableton live and, at best, does air pianos.

He had 5 midi controlers and a live drummer? 2 of the Midis being keyboards, 1 of them the xzone mixer and 2 others. I think one was the UC33

Don't put those two in the same boat. If you have any understanding of live audio, there's nothing "pathetically odd" about it. It's all about having options on the fly... which PVD's setup has given him. JP's setup is over the top for his ability as a DJ.

Yet Paul still can't do much that gets me excited with all of that . One computer running Ableton hooked up to a MIDI controller is more than enough to do the trick. Why in the hell does he need keyboards, drummers, studio mixers, and things of the like for the sets he seems to throw down. You don't need any of that to play an ATRC accapella at 140bpm.
