Yes but I'm not talking about all Israelis only the extreme Zionists who want Israel to be completely Jewish. I'm quite sure most people in Israel want to live in peace just like most of us in America do, but we're still at war with Iraq with no sight in end, so I do realize that just because most of our citizens don't approve of the President or the war doesn't meant it is going to disappear over night.
I really don't know though because to me taking a country from its indigenous people and forcing them onto increasingly smaller parts of that country seems pretty damn close to what us Americans did to our native people. Which in the end amounted to almost the complete extermination of indigenous Americans.
But who am I to talk? Those with power, weapons, and money make the rules and humans have been killing each other since the dawn of our species. So it let's bomb some settlements and bulldoze some houses! |

You know, I don't consider homosexuality to be a "normal" social phenomenon or even much what I do to be ethical, but at least I don't condesend and demean their humanity with terms like "fag." You must have a big goy dick pretty far up your ass. |

Works both ways mate. Forgive me for not finding "filthy zionist" a term of endearment. You should look it up, get back to me when you find information to the contrary. |

Thanks for posting this article! I actually know the author personally and I can say it's intelligent, compassionate people like him who are the true future of the Jewish nation, not the scumbags in the Knesset. A very interesting question has been brought up in this thread about the future of the Jews in Palestine (where would you have them go?). It is a question that has troubled me quite a bit because on the one hand I fully support the right of Palestinians to have their state and be free of colonial occupation, and on the other hand I recognize the need of the Jewish people to have a nation of their own, a place of refuge from the bigotry that has plagued them from centuries (yes, antisemitism is still a real problem). Liberation for Palestinians AND Jews. In a just world I think a Jewish state would have been carved right out of Germany, the perpetrators of the Holocaust, rather then foisted upon innocent Palestinians. In fact I think that would have been brilliant poetic justice but we all know what really happened (well, some of us at least  ). So in the interest of justice for both peoples I propose side by side but separate independent and sovereign states for Jews and Palestinians. The borders for such a two-state solution already exist, they were drawn up by the UN in 1947. Some Israelis won't like it because it will require giving up a lot of land and dismantling many (illegal) settlements, but this is the price of peace and stability. Some Palestinians won't like it 'cause Israel will still exist and they'll most likely have to give up on the right to return, but it sure as hell is a better outcome then they'll get from the status quo situation and the perpetual intifada it fuels. Far from ideal, but the only realistic option at this point for a lasting peace. Here, check out the map I'm speaking of:

| quote: | The British Uganda Program was a plan to give a portion of British East Africa to the Jewish people as a homeland.
The offer was first made by British Colonial Secretary Joseph Chamberlain to Theodore Herzl's Zionist group in 1903. He offered 5000 square miles of the Mau Plateau in what is today Kenya. The offer was a response to pogroms against the Jews in Russia, and it was hoped the area could be a refuge from persecution for the Jewish people.
The idea was brought to the World Zionist Organization's Zionist Congress at its sixth meeting in 1903 meeting in Basel. There a fierce debate ensued. The African land was described as an "ante-chamber to the Holy Land", but other groups felt that accepting the offer would make it more difficult to establish a Jewish state in Palestine (the historical land of Israel). Before the vote on the matter the Russian delegation stormed out in opposition. In the end the motion passed by 295 to 177 votes.
The next year a three man delegation was sent to inspect the plateau. Its high elevation gave it a temperate climate making it suitable for European settlement. However, the observers found a dangerous land filled with lions and other creatures. Moreover it was populated by a large number of Maasai who did not seem at all amenable to an influx of Europeans.
After receiving this report the Congress decided in 1905 to politely decline the British offer. Some Jews, who viewed this as a mistake, formed the Jewish Territorialist Organization with the aim of establishing a Jewish state anywhere.[3] A few Jews did move to Kenya, but most settled in the urban centers. Some of these families remain to this day.[citation needed] |
boy the world would of turned out different if israel was located in africa
i don't support zionism because it doesn't make sense. plus israel is racist toward all non-jews that live in israel. and their foreign policy is racist as well... and america mysteriously must support israel at all costs for some strange reason. i never got the memo. |

I think you called me and everyone who is critical of US foreign policy with Israel and the middle east 'anti-semites'. Which is a bunch of bull coming from you. It is funny though because Arabs are semitic while most of the Jews in Israel are not. |

All of the Jews in Israel are semitic. The Ashkenazi or Jews who migrated to Israel from Europe were Jews from the original 12 tribes of Israel who had migrated to Europe around the time of the Romans, and by 900-1000 AD were to be found in places like northern France and Germany. Ashkenaz actually means Germany (don't ask me how).
The Mizrahi or Seprhardic Jews, are ones who migrated to Israel from other Middle Eastern countries. They too are part of the 12 tribes of Israel, who started migrating into other countries as early as the Assyrians and Persians. A hundred years ago some of them saw themselves as Arab Jews.
As for Uganda and the British, the Jews declined the offer for a number of reasons. In part b/c there weren't really any Jews living in Uganda at the time, whereas there had ALWAYS been a Jewish population present in Israel, especially in the 4 holy cities. The Arab population on the other hand wasn't too big, and first started moving into the area about 1300 years ago.
The Brits originally proposed to turn ALL of Palestine to the control of the zionists. However, in consideration of the local Arab population they decided to split the country and give most of it to the Arabs. That country came to be known as Transjordan, ruled by Bedouins not Palestinians. Prior to 1947 the British further caves in to Arab demands, and decided to split the remaining land of Israel into Jewish and Arab lands.
What happened though was that the Palestinians didnt want the Jewish population to receive any control over any part of Israel, and declared war on the Jewish state. They lost and Israel gained control. |
