Yes, I still listen to 13 on a semi-regular basis. Excellent stuff.

You guys realize there would not have been any "obscure" songs on this list, right?

Yes.

My list is obviously compiled via my own subjective tastes, and not at all indicative of what I'd ever expect on a list like this.

That being said, I still don't think the Q list is that good a representation of the "best" of the last 20 years. Eminem? Gnarls Barkley? Surely they could have found better representations of "Pop" music than those...

I was actually considering putting that Eminem track on my list.

Oh and Rubin my list was fully going to be songs that are relatively "commercial" (for the most part) :)

I am looking fwd 2 c'ing yours, UWM.

I will post mine as well. I will tell you right now its def going to have a personal 'slant' on it - probably not as pronounced as Mr. RJT's, but it might be slightly evident but I will try to keep the personal bias to a minimum.

Am I allowed to include a song that was originally released 28 years ago but was rereleased within the 20 year frame? :gsmile:

i wouldn't even know where to start if i were to compile a list like this. i can't help but think that there's probably millions of songs that i've never heard that were released in the last 20 years that quite possibly could be considered the "best" songs, imo.

Yeah its hard. I'm trying to make a list of songs that I feel have been important over the past 20 years in terms of the music industry and at the same time have also been meaningful to me, personally. I am not including any modern "dance" tracks (trance, house, etc) because I just feel that is too limiting. Plus, in terms of modern dance music, I think most of us would know what would be on that list (Pvd - For an Angel, Sasha - Xpander, etc.) But I AM including Underworld - Born Slippy because I believe that was a huge step for the evolution of dance music AND its definitely one of my fav's over the years.
