I never seen these here in the states. But I saw one fixed up last week in Mexico. They're awesome and cheap! I think the low end one MSRP's at $27,000... Hehehe

Never again I will ever own a BMW! I had a 525i for 4 years and that car was more demanding than my girlfriend. :o

I wanted to get one too. I heard somewhere that they were going to be released in the US in 2008.

haha thats funny. i am trying to get one as soon as it comes to the states. rumor has it at the end of this year in octoberish or early next year around feb/marchish. im hoping the former as i want to get rid of my car for something with more getup and RWD!
this car has been on sale around the world since 2003 for the 2004 model year. in europe there is the 118, 120, 125, and 130. the states is rumored to get just the 125 and 130. in europe there are also diesel options. these will not come to the states either.

The 1 Series are available for purchase in Mexico. That means I can go to Tijuana and buy one. But how hard would it be to imported into the US?

over priced and under performs... i saw a video of it on the track and it has way too much understeer. it was actually pretty slow on the track too... the VolksWagon r32 actually beat it by 3 seconds. :)

I don't care! Haha it's a nice looking BMW, and low priced!

BMW is drivers car. Even the underpowered ones. Volkswagen is a people mover.
For the price of the 1 series you could get a terrific 3 series with couple of years on it and low miles. Probably still under warrenty.
I love BMW's. My favorite car manufacturer.

VW R32 > BMW 130i in handling, track time, and spacious interior. The 130i is uncomfortable for long trips. =]
