BARBIE!!!!...it's a shame that beauty isn't judged more so in terms of the way one treats people/does for their community, but is merely judged as how they look or how much money they can spend on their face.

it's disgusting how many people in this world are below the poverty level, yet there are those that are willing to spend thousands in vain.

bla bla bla...ok ms. amercia, we get your point. and i'm sure most of us agree with you, including me. it's ed up, but it is what it is. it's a much easier life for good looking people in this world and that's the bottom line.

lol. i'd make a pretty ed up ms. america.

yea sad but true. well actually...if a woman is good looking, she may get more breaks from men, but i believe other women will try to make it harder for her. some women are bitches and can't take jealousy well, and in those cases, their personalities match their ugly faces. muahahhaa.

this isn't at all in reference to you. you're hot.

its not only how much one can spend on appearance, but how much money can be spent on things...just look at vh1 shows like "the fabulous life" of whoever....people watch that and think "i need to have a nice car to be accepted"

no i know it's not. i'm just trying to make you open your eyes, that's all. i am extremely thankful for my looks and brains, and i don't take it for granted. i feel bad for people who are extremely unattractive and go through life like that and are miserable.

Wasn't it proven that better looking people are more successful in life?

there shouldn't be a correlation between being unattractive and having a miserable life. i hate to say it, but it's your own fault if you are vain enough to not make the most of your life because you don't believe you're good looking. yes, good looks can open a lot of doors, but no it can't carry you through everything (unless you're a super model and make millions from it). some of the most beautiful women have the most wretched personalities because they figure they don't need to work beyond their outward appearance. and that sometimes goes opposite for 'unattractive' women.

obviously it's not your fault if you're not born tall, thin and gorgeous but if you don't have a good life because you don't fit those characteristics...then it's your own fault. some people are way too hung up on physical .

what defines "natural" beauty? wearing make up but NOT having plastic surgery?

still sounds fake, not on the same level...but the premise remains.

Natural beauty is quite relative to cultural conditions, but along with the times, there is a sort of consensus on what is beautiful and what is not - namely, characteristics that represent youth and fertility are universal amongst cultures as far as "natural beauty" is really concerned. In women, breasts, young-looking hips, a youthful face, etc. - it's a naturally biological mechanism for us to be attracted to such things because our subconscious tells us that women with these characteristics are the most physically fit for bearing children. Perhaps the subjectivity stems from the question of just how many children can she bear :stongue: but I do think that there is a undefined but consistent agreement on the many social levels of the world.

I see your point though - it's an almost entirely subjective thing, "natural beauty". I would very much prefer somebody who is beautiful on the inside as well, but I'll not lie and say that looks do not matter - is this superficial? I don't think so. Looks matter because they tell a lot about a person - true, appearances can be deceiving, and looks certainly do not tell all there is about a person (well, not most people  ) but they are important in how you see others, both inside and out, most often.

There are many sorts of "fake" in our society. I think that the people with the fake personalities are the ones to worry about more - not the ones with the fake bodies.

i really dont have time to get into it, but yes Frenchie, it's a sad truth. good looking people get better jobs, better pay, better treatment in restaurants, etc... i'm sorry, but an entire life of being excluded from the above would make someone start to think they need to be attractive and it would start to affect that person. that's why i said i feel bad for people who are like that, and who realize this, and wish they weren't "ugly".
