Yeah, it's called propaganda. When people are largely ignorant and know nothing about another ethnic/ideological/religous group, it's very easy to shape public perception of that group in a very negative way. If they don't know anything, they'll easily fall for anything you tell them. The medias 'job', atleast in a democracy is to inform, educate, and be a watchdog of the state. That unfortunately isn't the case in reality ofcourse. Instead, it focuses on disinformation, fear mongering, and ratings; essentially being a lapdog. If you desensetize people, or make them fear or hate a particular group, the state can pretty much get away with any kind of policy and act of brutality they would be victims of.

No, unlike the 99% of you posters on here, I do not live in a rose colored world filled with University Clsses, going to the Co-Op to meet sally and jessie for a few lattes. I don't have the luxery of sitting and reading the latest Crap Filled Fantasy Rantings of Chomsky. I work for a living, I have seen first hand the racist attitude that the US has. It is not going to change. People are racist by nature, the fact that now the Average american is ignorant and thier fear is turned to the Muslim people. I have met racists that are white, black, hispanic, asian, arab and everything inbetween;
that is the truth, and no amount of bieng a yes man on a internet board will change that.
America is racist, not to the point that people are getting strung up in a tree for looking at a white woman; like they use to not even 40 years ago, but it is racist.
So whats my solution?? Keep a low profile shave my beard, cause I was told I look Middle Eastern. (as if ;) and live my life.
So if you still can't understand thats my take on Racist America, then continue to live your life in a fantasy that all men are good. The truth is, America will eat itself from the inside out and I hope I will be somewhere else by that time.

GREENSBORO (WGHP) -- The number of Guilford College football players charged with beating three Palestinian students in an on-campus fight January 21 has increased to five. For the first time since the incident some are calling a hate crime, a parent for one of the accused players speaks out.
Jazz Favors, 20, was charged with two counts of ethnic intimidation and two counts of assault and battery. Jonathan Underwood, 20, was charged with three counts of ethnic intimidation, two counts of assault and battery and one count of communicating threats. Both Favors and Underwood were released from the Guilford County Jail Thursday night.
Over the weekend, authorities charged Michael Bates, 19, of Reidsville; Michael Six, 20, of Clemmons; and Christopher Barnette, 21, of Semora, with misdemeanor assault and ethnic intimidation, according to court documents. They were released Monday on $2,000 bail.
The mother of Michael Six, Mickie, spoke exclusively to FOX8 News on behalf of all the accused players.
“None of the accused young men have yet to be interviewed by the college or any college official” said Six. “The Greensboro Police Department will not take their statements and declined to review physical evidence."
Six said the evidence includes pictures of Michael Six’s injuries from the fight, including a stab wound, bruises reportedly caused from being beaten with a belt.
“The physical evidence will clearly show who the aggressors were in this incident,” said Six.
Criminal charges so far come from warrants filed in the Magistrate’s office by the three Palestinian students. Six claims when the parents of the football players went to file their own charges of assault, they said the Magistrate told them no.

Its funny you say this, cause you're the one advocating a strong security state and you think if one group of people are suffering, so should everyone else, except your group. You are so much into group-think, you fear that if you dressed or shaved a wrong way, you will be interpreted as a bad guy. You are asking for a dictatorship - in that system you won't have to worry, everyone's rights will be diminished so noone will criticize you for having a Middle Eastern-like beard. You dont appreciate the freedoms you have, you are afraid of other people enjoying theirs too much. You dont like how other people are suffering and instead of talking about the problem and finding a solution for it, you blame the victim and decide its best to restrain him/her and let the abuser [of the victim] decide whats best for the victim. Alright, I believe you that you're not racist. Racism can be fixed. Media is a big reason for the hatred, funneling wrong information into people's ears, making them think Muslims are terrorists. Just like there's anti-semitism, an excuse for blaming our western crimes on Jews, or whatever other views are by some crazy people. I dont discriminate against any ethnic groups, though I might disagreee or disapprove some of their platforms.
If you're American, you watch American troops annihilating resistance in Iraq, people expect fair battles. But it cant happen. People dont understand them and label the savage fighting methods as terrorism.
