Healthcare where you are...

Well i've just come back from the doctors, and was wondering...are the doctors where you are as useless as they are here...
I wonder if its just my surgery...or maybe its because in the UK its paid for by the government so a high standard of service is not a worry.
How do you rate your doctors where you are?
Basically i have a deep cut running up my ring finger, where its cut to the bone. This was caused by me handling some livestock and its dorsal spine dug in and moved up to my finger tip. Bled a fair bit and has been num for 4 days...finally decided to go to the doctors after realising the dangers of handling certain corals i work with with an open infection, especially since my hands are in Salt water all day (google Zooanthid toxin if you are really that sad enough to be interested).
Explained to the doctor although it looks minor, im worried about what i've exposed it too. Told him all the details about where i work too. He told me to Bathe my hands in Salt water to kill infection and try to keep them dry!...All in all i was in my doctors office for no more than 45 seconds.

| There should be a Dr. Google where you type in all your symptoms and it gives you what it might be, what to do for it, and if you need medical help right away. Then you can take the advice of Dr. Google and go to Walmart and get some antibiotics or something. Health Care would probably go down in price as not everyone's brother's uncle is going to the doctor every 2 weeks for stupid stuff. |

LOL @ "My doctors a twat"
My regular doctor is OK, hot and jewish (She's a girl). I do go to a specialist for ears nose and throat that is a conceded jew, he pisses me off. |

| In the UK, if I'm not mistaken, medical care is both publically funded and publically provided. This is a bad model compared to the public funding plus private provision as practiced in the "social democracies" of other European states. Public funding means that everybody who needs it can get it, and private provision means that market efficiency will help dictate that better providers end up providing it. |

| I'm really sick right now, dizzy and confused with some vertigo, $200 and a couple doctors later and I'm still nowhere as far as diagnosis and being locked to my couch is driving me nuts. |

| Dont get me wrong, in the UK we have private healthcare too obviously...and my friend who had an operation recently said they were much more attentative and keen on getting everything right first time, as your the one giving him/her money...Whereas NHS doctors might just be thinking about when their lunch break is. |

| First off, when you cut your finger so deep (anything that goes down to or close to the bone) should get stitched up. After that, its pretty much just a waiting process for it to heal, they should give you cream/lotion for it to heal. |

My impression was that the majority of people went to NHS for healthcare. Is that incorrect? |
