if you could change one thing about your past (pg. 7)

Honestly, I'm not sure. There are so many things I wish dearly I'd done differently, but how do we know whether the alternative would be better off? How do we know that the lesson learnt from those mistakes isn't more valuable than what we lost to them? I do know that I'd be a very different person now if I did those things differently, and I've got a feeling that it would not necessarily be a better person, and perhaps not a happier one either.

I've made a lot of mistakes I wish I hadn't, but I've still got the vast majority of my life ahead of me to enjoy, having learned my lessons from those mistakes early on.

If I was in those situations again I know I'd act differently, but thats only because of the person I was shaped to be by those events, so I can't say that if I could go back and change those things, it'd necessarily be a good thing.

I know, and I'm happily working hard on it :) It's just that, whenever I realise where I am and how old I am, I just keep wishing I were 3 years younger, which is not a bad thing - that kinda keeps me going :p

It's not all that hard to intellectualize about the symbolic nature of life, but who could resist the temptation to alter it in new ways if given the power?

Also, since it's just a "show" why not change everything?

Nothing. All the highs and lows that I've went through has shape my life just nicely.

My usual answer to this type of question is that I wouldn't change a thing. I have no regrets in life, just learning experiences. I've made mistakes but I wouldn't really change any of that.

Today, I would change the fact that instead of studying this weekend, I went out. Now I am having to sneak in some homework at the office!! :D

Just don't get caught! ;) I used to do it all the time when I was in school!

I would have never gotten involved with one of mmy exs.

2 completely wasted years and a LOT of damage done to my self esteem :(

Saying that though, I'd maybe never have met some of the people that are now so important in my life if I hadn't done this.
