Well, another month has gone by and here we are already into February. I know, I am a few days early, but figured I may as well get a jump on things. This should certainly keep you entertained on a lazy Sunday...
Overview
This month's promotional mix delivers a constant onslaught of Trance that is certainly not to be quickly forgotten. Starting off with a killer track of last year, Nic Chagall manages to set the tone beautifully for Activa and his fantastic production, Reflection. Continuing to push the energy level through the next songs, Dan Stone's Spinal Chord changes the mood and foreshadows the coming songs perfectly. If you have to listen to any songs in this set, it is certainly the two tracks by the incredible duo of Ali Wilson & Lee Osborne. Seeing a release on fiveAM records, Full Moon is quite possibly the most incredible Trancer I have heard in ages. Be sure to check these two out on fiveAM records.

Have you had a chance to sample Ali & Lee's latest efforts yet? If so, I hope you enjoyed them. What is your take on their two tracks?
On another note, February seems to be a slow month for Downloads, I wonder if all the students are feeling the crunch of School Exams and such? |

to be honest, I'm not instantly astounded with these tracks. Just decent, solid energetic trance - you played them in the nick of time. Who knows, maybe it will grow on me after another listens.
Regarding your technical skills, you're doing better with every effort, sir! Congratulations!. Just wondering what stands behind this, that your mixes sound quality seems kinda flat. Like it lacks the depth. Can you feel it or it's just me? The mix is 160kbps so idk... maybe there's something with your hardware/mixer?. Btw I remember you reviewing my Edification mix the other day. If you're accidentally in the mood for melancholy again, why don't you take a trip with my mix for February? :) Cheers mate! |

Thanks for listening. Thanks for the kind words in regards to the improvement in my skills. Much appreciated! Feels good to have some one else validate what I feel.
As for quality, most likely the fact its recorded on a tiny mp4 player at 160kbps from a behringer djx700. It certainly isnt a perfect setup, but gets the job done for the time being.
As for your Feb Mix, I scanned the first few pages of this forum, and I couldn't find it. Where can I grab it? |
