LOL. Daniel, I can just imagine you wandering the streets, muttering to yourself, outraged...
Lest I remind you, Toi Bar makes their money on alcohol sales, whereas Sonic's primary source of revenue is cover fees. Are you suggesting that Sonic should not have charged cover on Saturday? Crazy talk... |
No Andrew...I am saying that I don't understand why Sonic would be plastered with signs for a an event at TOIbar featuring the EXACT same line up! |

Free no. 10$ per night with GL. |
Funny you bring that up. That's what I am charging you when you stay at my place Feb 16-23. Reduced GL rate only applies cause it's your birthday...otherwise I'd charge you $20 per night...
:haha: |

Here is a quick response why I didn't like the night at Sonic.
The music - I was at Sonic the week before and saw Jonny White so I came back in hopes to hear the same music. However, I could not wait to leave (around 6am). Apparently the DJ I wanted to hear came on last and then the music approved. I thought to myself if I stick around much longer I might be the only one left on the dance floor. Several times I thought that they possibly had some DJ's playing that were in training (or maybe they were not smoking only cigarettes).
Cover Charge - I am used to paying a cover and don't have a problem with that. But when I saw posters promoting the same event at another location it made me wonder ... Did I just spend $20.00 when I could see this venue somewhere else for free.
I go out to a club in hopes of hearing great music, dance and meet up with friends. Again, the club didn't have a large crowd and it didn't seem like they were playing for the crowd. I do recognize that not all music is everyone’s taste. I am just expressing my thoughts. |

Yes, Thursday nights at Toibar are free, but the djs will be rotating every week.
It will be a different experience then what you got on Saturday night. |

| I really don't care what other clubs are doing on what night. The point is the we are talking about Sonic and the crowd's are not what they used to be so why are they promoting another club? |

I thought the previous week at Sonic was exactly how it used to be! It's just becoming slightly less frequent that the place is rammed and the music is amazing...
It may be played in Berlin and be popular there....
This is TORONTO! |

Honestly, with that poor attendance on Saturday, the club probably didn't have enough money to pay the rent, staff, or talent. Or maybe the talent volunteered for free.
Exactly DiscoBiskit, this is Toronto, not Berlin. LOL. The scene is so different there.
When will Sonic be like what it used to be? |

They were promoting a THURSDAY night party that the djs who were playing on Saturday night are starting. I don't see how promoting a THURSDAY night party is going to harm Sonic in anyway. |

Thats a pretty bold statment.
The club was not empty by any means, when i went upstairs the dance floor was going off. |

Some people choose to party more than once a week and others only once per week for whatever reason. If you owned Sonic would you promote another club? I certainly would not..It does not sound like good business practice. Hmmm..are you possibly a promoter for a club other than Sonic. Your comment sounds like a plug to me ! |

OK either I was at the wrong party, or we have different definitions for the word "busy". |
