You mean for point and shoot? Because I would strongly argue that in the DSLR market...

I used the sd 110, the sd300 and now the sd450.

All quality. Great for point and shoot. Video capturing quality is excellent too

If you or someone you know is a Costco member, I suggest you purchase one of their cameras. They take almost anything back at any time (no set day return policy).

Something is bound to happen.

PS Don't let laser's hit the lens!

I use the Sony DSC models for video shooting in the club and sound.

For some reason I compared this with cannon, fujitsu and kodak cameras, and the sony was pretty clear when it came to sound.
I have 2 4GB memory sticks I got it, Pics arent too bad, sound recording is pretty awsome and suprisingly clear.

For special occasions, ill bring out my bigger Sony, the Cybershot DSC-F828

if laser's hit the lens then it'll mess up the camera right?

oh btw for the point and shoot i'm not going to jump on the canon dryhumping bandwagon. Id recommend the fuji f40 it comes out next month. as said previously.

its a sub $300 camera, you're not going to have it forever, p&s are disposable after a few years.. Don't you want to take great pictures NOW?

Canon is a fine choice too.

I did a lot of research on this about a year ago. I'm a pretty adept photographer and had been shooting mostly with my Nikon D70. For a club camera I wanted one with good low light capability.

At the time nothing could compare to the Fuji F11. The current model F30 uses basically the same CCD. These cameras can shoot in ISO 400 with very good quality and ISO 800 is still OK. The video is pretty nice too.

Here are a few pics I took last year - http://www.stormpages.com/jd8899 . These are unedited except for resizing. I mostly take pics of my friends but I won't post those to protect the innocent (haha).
