| I didnt make this patch, Lennerd did, the developer of Sylenth 1. You can go to Kvr and get the patch, or ask him to make it better. |

It is ok to upload a short soundclip of a peice of music you wish to get IDed. It is not ok to upload an entire copyrighted work.
I have not heard this song and I'm not sure why I should have heard it at some point or other. If uploading clips is illegal or against the rules then sites such as youtube.com wouldn't exist and you wouldn't be allowed to link to them if they did.
Without a soundclip I cannot help you unfortunately. You should be able to tell if its a Virus if you have ever used a Virus because it has a very unique sound. It is easy to tell if the sound of the raw oscillators gets through or if theres a filter sweep as you can tell the Virus filter a mile off. |

yes i agree it's very close, but this track was released in 1999 and the only virus around then was the A (perhaps the B was out, it was released in late '99). i very much doubt that the synth in question here is a virus, unless the A sounds totally different than B (i've owned a KB for 3 years and i'm unable to recognize it as the synth in this clip, but yea i could be wrong).
listen to the filtrating synth and its portamento/filter characteristics. that's the main clue here.. i'm still waiting for Chantzis to answer my question (hope i don't get PWNED because i just sold my KB :o )
if you know/can find some other tracks by DJ Jan & Christophe Chantzis (from 1997 and up, the virus A was released in '97) you'll hear the same synth characteristics in those tracks. for example,
Perfect Sphere - Inner Glow (DJ Jan & Chantzis Remix)
Komakino - Man on Mars (DJ Jan Remix)
Absolom - Stars
also, some (if not all) of the "Rave eJay" synth loops from around 2000 are made with the same synth. i sent an e-mail to the eJay-guys but they couldn't answer me :whip: |

Virus A,B and C sound near identical.
And I didn't say this patch was used for it.
It's pretty obvious that the vengeance patch was meant to emulate the lead in this track since the melody is very similar. |

Great remix, loved it back then (still do actually).
The virus version comes close but is a tad too sharp. The original is more wooly. Let us know if it turns out to be the JV-1080, i'm curious now :)

yep that's right, man. Mystery solved! the synth i was looking for is most likely a ROM-based one from Roland, just checked some sound demos right now from the JV-1080 and it's got the same filter/waveforms. Could use any JV/XP synth because they have pretty much the same waveforms and filter. |
