And that is just in Trance. If I knew anything about breaks, I would bet there are loads of successful breaks female Producers.

Haven't heard of them.. They aren't even on wikipedia? You call that successful? Of course there are many talented girls producing out there - that's a fact !! BUT - why aren't there any girls in the charts, top-lists, radioshows etc...? Did I prove my point?

Ok, let's have a listen to this track:
The sounds are quite nice, although I'm only listening to lo-fi. The soundclick-player didn't work.. Soundclick is not a very good site imo. The first part of the track is kinda repetetive. Percs looping over and over, and same transitions. The first time I heard the transition-percs I was kinda amused. But then you used them over and over and over.. Hmm.. The vocals seems out of line? As if the pads doens't fit with them at all. After that, when the melody comes in, the tracks gets a huge lift. That melody fits SOOO well with the rest of the atmosphere. Very well done on that melody. Chill, melancholic and beautiful :toocool:

Quite nice track - though it seems a little thin. Judging you alongside male producers on this forum makes me only call it a decent track. 6/10 imo

Keep it up, Iris. Not many girls in this scene, so you're almost one-of-a-kind. That's cool

BTW I listened to the other tracks on your myspace. Pretty good. You like to use portamento in your melodies, I hear :p Hehe! "The Other Side" has a nice, slim portamento-melody. But Iris, I hear that same perc-transition also in this track. Same goes with the sounds. Try experimenting with new elements in your tracks. Don't get me wrong, it's nice for a producer to have a certain style, but variation is both healty and helpful to make you grow as an artist and learn even more. You don't want to get the "pre-rack-setup" reputation as certain producers have. Like, they're useing the same elements and sounds in most of their tracks. Icone (Wim Van Gelder) has a very monotone style - with every track sounding pretty much the same. The structure, the sounds, the melodies, the patterns..everything is somewhat similar from track to track.

Please don't see this as bashing from my side. I'm only trying to give you constructive critics & feedback to help you grow as an artist. If you find it helpful or not, I don't know. I'm just saying

Whow! Many many thanks, alexpea!:eyespop: This is a really constructive critic:D
Yes, all trance producers have a very typical style and I think I'm in the same way. I started producing with 90's eurodance style, then I turned into pop and ambient and my last step was trance. I'm trying to change this style again but, for the moment, it's hard to make new melodies and structures (probably I've been working with trance too many time).:nervous:
I keep being a pattern and preset lover and I think this is not always good if you want to make other different styles like, for example, chill out or experimental.

How is that a measure of success, exactly?

Yeah, in the scale I was pointing to. Those female artist may have had some success, but not nearly as much as male producers. Such as [Trance:]Armin, Tiesto, Ferry, Above & Beyond [Rap:]Eminem, 50 Cent, Dr.Dre, N.E.R.D. In the pop-scene I have no clue which artists are both singing and producing. See, I'm aiming for THAT league. There's no reason females shouldn't be JUST as dominant in the music-production-scene.

I have the hope some day trance producer girls promote their music and, maybe some of them get sucess. Of course, I won't be one of them but I'll be happy taking the first step. It will be more than I'm dreaming of!:D

Pix of a girl producing? How can you tell if she's producing from a pic? Even if she's sitting in front of the computer, looking busy, that ain't proving anything..

I didn't quite understand what you're aiming for...

Wouldn't mind having a faster remix of this one, could be a great build up track.
