Someone also told me about traktor. looks like its the app to get.

regardless id rather just bring cds to the club than lug around a laptop and all that other , just easier.

thats my reason for not using serato

My laptop is lighter than my CD booklet... I'd rather "lug" that to the club... :D

Yeah, people seem to be ditching SSL for Traktor lately but I don't know why. This time last year it was all SSL. :conf:

from what i can tell after a couple months with it traktor scratch pro has more features, better sound quality, and is more controllable over midi and such than serato. however, 1.0.2 is buggy as and I'm really hoping the next update is the magic one

Wait til you see what Serato has up their sleve. NAMM is this week, and rumors has it Serato 2 is being announced.

I recently upgraded from Torq to Traktor Scratch Pro. Even though I loved Torq I'm satisfied with the upgrade. Curious about what Searto has up their sleeve though...

How long do you guys feel that CDJs will be the standard at clubs? Thanks!

Serato + Ableton = Win.

I started with serato but i think im more of a purist when it comes to how i play my music. I would have loved to keep vinyl but finding them tracks is going to be expensive.. :( . If i ever become fairly wealthy, ill start buying vinyl for the sound quality :D

Didn't see anything about this.. did anything happen in the end?

They didn't announce anything as far as I'm aware.

Ableton announced Live 8 and Serato released Scratch Live 1.9, but I didn't hear of anything regarding their partnership.

could you elaborate on this a bit further? I'm curious as to HOW it overcomes the skill deficiency in those that are lacking?

curious about this too, serato for me is the same as mixing with cd's (though i suppose one could argue that using cd's is technically cheating when compared to using TTs)
