How? The first thing I noticed was that the vocals are choppy. Bad production, because they're not meant to be pitch-locked and sped up.

Man, how interesting it would be if the Signalrunners replied in this thread to the comments about the production being horrible, especially the somewhat technical comments about specific production elements or vocal sampling. I always laugh now-a-days when all sorts of "know-it-alls" really put down EDM productions as if they somehow can do better or know what had to be done to make a track better or the right way. I wonder why neither Mattis nor idoru can show us how a proper bootleg of this track or another would be done. Explain to me how the Signalrunners could've made the trance track they wanted to without modifying the vocal (essentially speeding it up)?

It would be indeed be interesting.

1.) Who said we could do better?
2.) Who said we knew it all? How does my pointing out one flaw display that I feel that I know everything about production?
3.) Pitch-locking the vocal and speeding it up may work great with lots of tunes, but it's ing OBVIOUS that it didn't with this tune. Excuse me for pointing out something so blatant. I played the sample back to my 16 year-old brother, who knows little (if any) about EDM, and he said the vocal sample sounded choppy. If that doesn't tell you how blatant it is, then I don't know what does. Also, the Trumpet sounds bad for the same reason, and it just doesn't fit in this type of a song.
4.) I love how just because we voice our subjective opinions on a track and point out blatant flaws that we're labeled as "know-it-alls" and "haters." I also love how you just assume we don't know anything about production, when this is the first time I've ever posted alongside you. Grow up.

First off, you, you don't know me.

Second they shouldn't have made a trance remix of this to begin with. The original gains nothing from being remixed in this style.

The track sounds like to me and most everyone else I gave the link to agrees.

Maybe I will make a proper bootleg? It wouldnt be trance I'll tell you that straight off.

Agreed...

This is .

Really .

The pitch lock ruins the vocals, its sped up to where everything feels rushed, it looses all the originals effects from tempo.

it.

I'd seriously kick Signalrunners in the in nuts if I saw them.

*edit*

GAH!

Listen to the original and listen to the tremolo in Sufjans voice, the pitch shift s that all to hell and you lose a lot of the emotion in the song.

This is just bad bad bad bad! :(

Have you heard the original, and are you an idiot?

Answering yes to the first means a yes to the second.

are you retarded? How is it that if a track works well in a club and has catchy vocals mean it's cheese? Talk about a close minded judgement in music.
