I have 2001 GTI...the last year they were made in Germany. I doubt its the reason but its been a great car.

since its a lease I can understand. VW always need a drop. You can get a quality set of wheels and sell them off when the lease is up, you'd make most of your cash back. I had someone offer me 4 grand for my wheels when they were already 5 years old. |

i call bull on this because i was looking at getting a GTI almost a year ago when i was car shopping. i was looking at an 04 that had a vin that was WVW...the german manufactured ones. |

| I actually financed mine, so I don't have to put up with the mileage restrictions and other limitations of leasing. Plus, I can pay-off my term, and sell the car whenever I want. |
