| The tracklist would have looked exciting maybe 7 months ago, but now it just looks played out. Not that I'll judge it before I actually listen, but it's looks simply outdated. GU needs to bring some new DJ's to the table and stop reusing Sharam, Warren, and Dubfire. Bring some new talent for a change - there's a billion DJ's dying for a chance at a breakthrough compilation like GU - but instead they want to give the already huge DJ's another accolade to their name. Obviously they're not spending the time on these mixes to make them as fresh as they could possibly be. I've lost a lot of respect for GU in the last two years, it used to be the compilation one could turn to for the freshest in electronic music, now it's turned into a pile of IMO. But obviously it won't affect sales because we're like 5% (maybe less) of the community that actually knows/cares about this. Just my rant. You may ignore. :eyespop: |

Nah, there're still good ones. But, like with many things in this industry, some figure they can just get by on name recognition rather than maintained quality. |

Part of the problem & probably a big part at that is there seems to have been no effort to make the tracklist fresh or in anyway exciting.
Releasing the tracklist way before the actual release date obviously shows that it was recorded way in advance, what's the point in recording something so far in advance that when it does come out it has no bearing on what is currently desired by compilation buyers.
They need to re-evaluate the way they go about the whole process, imo |
