Actually, I woulnd't mind being mod but don't know if that cool with everyone else. I only resort to foul language when people insist on poking, going off topic with insults, obsenities, and provocations, or launch ad hominen attacks. I'd give one warning, if they don't heed it and try to actually discuss a topic as opposed to bashing perosn/people/religion/ethnic group/etc X, they're get as suspension immediately. And if they kept doing it, they'd warrant a ban for a period to give them time to reflects and reconsider how they conduct themselves.
EDIT: A detailed look at my debates/discussion with people will quickly reveal who slings mud first. I never resort to anything like that unless some throws the first punch, and that only started happening when this place was unmoderated. That's when some lurkers and other decided to start trolling and provoking instead of engaging in a civil discussion of any sort.
EDIT2: I would definetly prefer having Lira back, but if he's too busy, we can't force him. I'm fine with Occrider or Renegade beings mods, and I have asked them before. Not that I really want the responsibility, but I wouldn't mind taking it up as it's definetly better than no mod at all.
EDIT3: I'm patient enough to give multiple warning and chances before taking any action, but I won't put up with abusive post straying from the topic at hand.
EDIT4: But Neo's authority will over ride mine if he feels I'm not being impartial, that is if I'm mod in the first place ofcourse.
EDIT5: I'm also down for making Opus mod.
EDIT6: Another potential candidate, VenomX.
EDIT7: Ofcourse, in case I am made mod, I would be much more mindful or excercising self control as I'd know I have a responsibility to do so and the authority to take care of someone else not doing so themselves. |

Welp, looks like Startraveller got his suspension. I think it was well-deserved for the reasons outlined previously as well as Neo's reasoning:

This was troll-like behavior. Everyone posts things like that from time to time without commentary, but this isn't a ing bulletin board where people can just post hot topic stories of the day without at least adding a bit to a following debate and discussion in their thread. Clearly it was habitual for whatever reason (post count or otherwise), and for me it went beyond the mere "annoying" rationale and entered the troll zone pretty easily.
Furthermore, it was also clear that he broke the rule Neo laid out for folks glorifying death. I realize, Shaolin, that you brought up some points of similar behavior, and I think they are worth examining in their own right. I did not look at those other remarks close enough to see whether or not they were given AFTER Neo gave his warning, to which if that were the case they would be even more valid.
In any case, I think we should all be a bit more careful and be mindful of any warnings given by Mods in the future. |

I can think of a few folks who wouldn't quite be so hip on that thought :D, especially when my rants take their snarky, snipish turn. A little too busy right now anyway, but I appreciate the nod. |

| Agreed, the only thing getting on my nerves were the double standard. Now please note, I'm not implying anything about Neo here, he's definetly cool. But he's only contacted rarely, usually by people who're guilty of much the same themselves. A lack of regular moderation can lead to an unfair compromise when it comes to being fair. Again, not that Neo isn't fair, but a mod should be familiar with the various posters/trolls in order to have a more balanced and full picture of all the trolling/complaining that goes on in here. That requires regular browsing. Neo already knows that I think he's cool, so I hope I don't need to clarify that yet again lol :p. |

I don't think most people would really have a problem with you being Mod man ;). And I trust Neo in exercising good judgment on any disagreement there. |

Oh please Z!! Should I pull up instances when you attack others?? Oh yeah, you are known to go back and edit them out, why?? Wy edit them out Z?? your true colors shined through and may the gods forbid others see you for what you really are. When you throw in thier face that you were told in confidence, that really is showing who you are!! Get a grip!! My slingng is in NO WAY comparable to Star Travllers Posting of 100s of threads that GO NO WHERE BUT DOWN HILL!!
Its PEOPLE like you Z that has Turned PDD into a Joke, supporting people like Star Travller and Edrga. Even Cyrus has more class than these people you are so ready to critique the MOD for banning.. WHen the regular CORE room can have more civil convos than this place, you know somethings amiss.
You are just pissed cause now you do not have that crutch to lean on for your sick view of your own country. With Star Travler gone for a few days, you will have to show your true colors as a ungrateful twat that hates his country so much, that you would not think twice about kicking it in the mouth, but yet, enjoy the comforts that it provides you.
And in my post about startravller, I even suggested he be given a thread like Cyrus had, cause all of his posts were all about the same thing or on the same lines....... So Back off Burn Boy! ;)
Oh well, at least the only thing we do have in common is the love of the shire's weed. :D |
