Yeah ok ,whatever it is called doesn't change the fact that the "music" (god make it) is based on a fast repetetive disturbing loop that goes and goes over and over again until it burns your brain!Hideous this stockholm-schranz-myarse-whateveritiscalleditsjustaingloop-techno.

Icelandic music tends to be more chilled, downtempo.. abstract music that many people tend to like, although i dont really fall for that.. I find it a bit depressing to be honest. I grew up in iceland, and i really dont find it healthy to listen to stuff like that (especially during the winters)

Sweden has a club culture from the past, especially in Stockholm, with the likes of Stonebridge once rocking the city up, and rave people.. I guess

what a gay comparison :o how did u think of it?

Ace Of Base, not Bass

I ask the question because I find it so difficult to commit an answer.

My gut reaction is to go for Iceland because of their inventiveness and chilly emotion.

Then I remember the pure saccharine joy of ABBA and Ace of Base. Sure, I could do without Swedish techno and the Mafia, if I were pressed. But can I imagine a world without ABBA and Ace of Base? Not really.

And just imagine a world without Basshunter. How impoverished it would be.

Musicwise it would be more fair to compare Iceland with Norway.

Although Iceland and Norway share a general aesthetic, I wouldn't say that Norway's artistic output is disproportionate. Röyksopp notwithstanding, Norway has 15 times as many people but not 15 times as much creativity. Sweden, on the other hand, I think gives Iceland a run for it.
