same here. it sucks, but i've become kind of used to it now and it's not as bad as the first few experiences i had with it that involved me thinking there was an evil creature sitting on my chest. lol sucks, but now i just get the part where my eyes are open and i slowly feel my body going into paralysis mode and i have to fight it. it happens more during the onset of me falling asleep, rather than me being abruptly awakened and not being able to move.

Sleep Paralysis owns.

I've come to the realisation that there probably isn't much I can do about it and will have it the rest of my life. So while I nearly myself every time it happens I always wake up and go "Whoa that was ing crazy!" and then tell someone about it. They usually laugh at me but hey, maybe that is what it's good for. A good laugh!

Meh. I am used to it by now, but last nights episode(s) was ing nuts. I agree though, it is useful, and an interesting conversation piece for sure.

But... last night.

hahaha I bet it was nuts!

I remember this one time laying on my couch facing towards my hallway and I could hear little kids giggling in the hallway but I couldn't see them. Then another time I was laying on the couch facing the back rest. All of a sudden a spider kept racing around the couch in front of my face and then I heard this demonic voice talking and laughing about an inch from the back of my head. It was speaking in a language I didn't understand but I just remember laying their all wide eyed like WAKE THE UP NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :stongue:

it's annoying cause you're gasping for air and it can feel like you're struggling for your life.

Add to that the real hallucination of falling out of bed without feeling anything, it sucks. Only reason I know I was hallucinating sometimes was because in my hallucinations I can see my hands, but when I am awake, I realise my hands are under the covers. They are so real :p

i think the way to avoid it is to get enough sleep. it happens when your body is just like shutting down i think.

if it happens a lot during the onset of falling asleep, it's because your mind is awake (stress, etc...) and your body is ready for bed and starts to shut down even though your mind is still awake. so i would naturally assume that you just need to relax more and get more sleep, rest, meditate, etc...

obviously if it's happening because you get woken up from a deep sleep, then try to eliminate whatever is waking you up like that.

It only happens to me when i have a ed up sleeping pattern, or when i'm just not getting enough sleep.

If it were only that easy. Honestly, if that would fix the problem, I would totally ing go for it.

I mean, some people suggest that its caused by sleep deprivation...which does apply to me...but at the same time I took a ing huge lortab last night and was passed the out. No way in hell could sleep have been the problem last night, I was totally knocked out.

FYI if your unaware. sleeping pills do not put you in the same sleep state as natural rem sleep. this in turn does NOT give you the type of sleep you obviously are lacking and therefore are still sleep deprived. there is a new drug that is in a testing phase that does target this deeper sleep. i cant remember what its called but it doesnt do the same thing as drugs like lortab and ambien.

ambien and lortab and pretty much the ones on the market today target GABA(A) receptors. there is a new one that is being tested that does not target GABA(A) receptors and gives you a much more full nights sleep.

you need to take a few days and sleep 10-12hrs each day. if not more.

or just buy some melatonin. it's the hormone your body naturally produces to make you sleepy. they sell it in pill form at the grocery store or GNC.

well that will only help to a point. it makes you sleepy but it doesnt necessarily get you down into the deepest levels of sleep. you need to be in 4 or 5 to get a truely refreshing sleep. and you need this for a approximately 3-4hrs depending on each person. some need more but thats the average. i wish i could remember what the show i saw was called that they went very much into how sleeping pills and sleep and how it all works. it was very informative and also gives a good insight on what the future holds for sleeping aids.

Holy :eyespop:

SO wait, how does this occur, during your sleep or when you're trying to fall asleep or what? Sounds scary.. but exciting at the same time
