Inland Empire David Lynch Movie

I highly recommend the most recent David Lynch movie Inland Empire.
Crazy filming, distressed plots abound and surprises with every new scene.
The movie really freaked me out on a couple occasions.

Plot summary:Nikki Grace(Dern) and Devon Berk(Theroux) cast in Kingsley Stewart's new motion picture project called ''On High in blue tomorrows'' Nikki's life is messed up when she falls deeply into her role, soon the soon she begins to confuse her current life with the role she's playing(Susan Blue) with co-star Devon (Billy Side in the movie). the project ''On High in blue tomorrows''used to be underway in the past but it has been shattered when it's two lead stars have been murdered accidentally. but it will be even more confusing when Nikki's role (Susan Blue) becomes more real than her real character in reality...

you know what ... I can't get this movie out of my head!
fyi I saw it (subtitled in french btw) in another city that's about an hour and a half away from me and I'll be there again next friday normally!

I can't wait until it's done. And I already can't wait until it's out on dvd even though I haven't seen it yet.
I also heard that David Lynch is starting his own coffee shop chain, anyone have any info on that? |

i went on a d.lynch spree a few months ago (3 movies lololololol)
While i enjoyed the movies as a whole (first time i'd seen Eraserhead, Molholland Drive, Lost Highway), there are points in the movie where, looking back, the ambiguity of the signifance of the scene is like "ummm, ok. waste my time" and then you read about Lynch's other films and you are pondering with other people who saw the movie as to whether "ummmm, maybe it wasn't a waste of time." Molholland Drive especially. It's like an interaction with the audience to keep them guessing until the finish their first view of the film.
then you ponder "what the ? what was with the first half of the film?" and you think
and think
and think
and then "oh, it must've been a dream"
it's like a mellow thriller with the plot twist occuring way after the film is over (depending on how fast you can create a logical interpretation in your head)
when i heard the interview with Lynch right after M.Drive was released, refusing to explain wtf the movie was about, i thought he was some kind of paycheck wanker like MNight Shamalyan.
but, he's actually very intriguing in the experiences he brings to film |

| my only problem with Lynch movies post Dune is that they suck complete and try wayyyyy too hard to be unique and different. If I want to spend 2 hours trying to figure out what the is going on I'll go on a blind date, I don't need a ty David Lynch movie. |

For Mulholland drive even the actors didn't get it!
I watched Naomi Watts Inside the Actors studio episode and she talked about working with Lynch and how he basically refused to tell them what the hell was up :stongue:
I really like Lynch movies but I will say I don't understand them most of the time ...
you need to see the straight story!
So easy to understand even a retard ( no offense to anyone there! ) could get the plot :p |
