Probably not unfortunately.
As in past threads it seems like Sonic does not have an official spokes person. Maybe this can be my new job if they stay open much longer. :tongue2 |

I have not been informed of any closure, and will continue to stay out of the matter, personally.
I've had countless people calling/asking me about the clubs future, and if I had answers I would gladly share them. |

Is there a representitive from the Guvernment everytime there is a thread started about the venue turning into condos? Or from TiL everytime someone whines and complains about the way they're treated at the door, or not let in because they are not 21+?
Issues come up with clubs all the time, but in Sonics case it has been the most talked about in regards to rumours, likely in the history of all clubs in Toronto. Running a club has many layers of responsibility, and you can be assured that answering rumours on a message board is NOT one of them (for any venue).
Management reads the boards, and does take many of the valid complaints to heart - but to come on here everytime a thread is started about the venue, and reply to concerns or rumours WOULD require hiring a person just for that task alone. And to be quite frank, I don't have the time nor the patience to do it myself. |

I guess we are just all curious as to what is going on with Sonic since we enjoy going there. I don't care what is going on with The Guv or other clubs in Toronto so I am not aware of what is being discussed on any of the TA message boards. |

That's fine and all, but starting threads like this one is only going to add to the problem. I would suggest letting the club communicate it's plan of action (or change) rather than coming out and asking. All it will do is have people speculate, and put their own twists on what they think may happen.
Example: I get several phone calls from people worried about Peter Rauhofer not showing up. They heard he asked for a $5000 deposit up front and that Sonic couldn't afford to pay it. Automatically, people are pointing the finger at the club saying it's a money scam - and that's why they were only offering tickets online (that would be non-refundable). I even had people at the club that night chatting my ear off saying 'I told you so', when 4am came and Peter wasn't there yet.
Sure enough minutes later, up the stairs come Carey and Rauhofer.
