Why do you like Trance?

We are all part of tranceaddict for one reason; our love of trance. But Why? Why do we rate trance so highly amongst our musical tastes. Why is it that we love it so much, and other people hate it?
I will share my reasons, and perhaps u will all agree or disagree, but i will lay them down anyway.
Trance makes me happy. The melodies it involves move our souls from misery to happiness. Only we can answer why it happens to us, for i know that we all experience a different feeling with each happy song. Each tune tells a story, which can be emphasised with powerful vocals. We can feel the journey and the trance becomes one with us. As trance peaks, so do we, in a burst of ecstasy which we will all release in our own different way.
Trance ACTUALLY sounds nice. I cannot for the love of me see the appeal of metal with the noise and screaming. The electronic synths, the powerful strings, the heavenly female vocal? Need I say any more?
Trance, can be comoparable to classical music, where all the layers of sound merge together to produce masterpieces in music. I play the piano and violin, and maybe it is because of that, that i feel that I have something in common with the music.
Most of all, trance helps you at the worst of times. I have already said it makes you happy. Happiness always stems from somthing bad. Anything that makes you happy from when u r sad, can only be classed as one of the most powerful things in the world.
Long live Trance...

Trance is everything for me, its the best thing in life for me at the moment.
If I listen to some tunes here and pull the volume knob at his maximum I go totally insane!

That's weird coz Trance makes me melancholic. It doesn't make me happy (well it does sometimes, some hard trance makes me go insane and I'll be dancing and smiling to myself) but the best trance tracks, IMO, makes one sit up and start to feel a tinge of sadness and pessimism about life.
Why do I love Trance? Coz it's the best thing that ever happened to me this lifetime. Trance made me realise how good living and existing actually is. |

| I like bass and I like beats and I love synths...thats it...nice to listen to...I like the lack of vocals as well...most vocals styles of music (ie. rock, hip-hop r&b) typically sing about nonsense or shiznit that may in fact go against my beleif system. I like trance because anyone can listen to it without having to conform to a particular style or culture. Its all about the basic elements in the music (synths, drum etc.) not the words or the stance of the artist...for the most part anyways... |

I also fail to feel the magic of angry music. I want to major in music theory in college, so from my experiences with that the classical musicians in my life like to call trance "minimalist music". This means that the songs are long, changes occur subtly and happen slowly, as much time passes. It's a kind of respected name they call it in the classical world. So my question is, why do professional classical musicians make fun of/disregard techno as a valid music form? Are they angry with it because it allows people to express music without having to learn the difficult 'trade' of playing a specific instrument? Or do they actually get turned off from the music by some of the people involved with it, like rowdy teenagers? What I've figured out is, some of the magic in trance is that it's such a hypnotic and ecstacy-inducing type of music. It's like in ancient, tribal traditions with people pounding on different-toned drums to a certain beat for hour after hour, with chanting perhaps in the background, and maybe a fire to dance about. It's proven to be a fact that the specific beat of both that music and likewise, trance, aligns with the human body rhythms and so dancing to it can take your mind to a different state. You only know it when you've tried it. Some people like drugs to make it better, but even if you don't take drugs it's doing the same thing to you.
So that's my long babbling answer to my obsession with trance. It's just the coolest music ever, it sounds so '3d' with the effects you can make it have. Like at a rave when there is one of those giant, loud bassey 'Boom!'s that happen right after the drums build up and then drop out to reveal just the melodic pretty tune...you imagine like a bomb being dropped right into the middle of the crowd and the energy from the bomb spreading out into every direction of space...what other music can do that so well? |

trance enhances each and every experience i go through in this life.
Makes everything just that much better and clearer.
During trance is when I can reflect on my life the best.

I like trance because I think it sounds good.
It doesn't send shivers through my soul like the flowing of a bla bla bla. That's just bull. I don't gaze into the sky contemplating the beats or some other crap. It sounds good, I listen to it. Any Shakespearean quotes or sensual poetry would just be bull on my part.
Am I the only person on the boards who feels this way? Cos looking around at people's sigs and comments, it would seem so!
