| I think it's important that a person be able to try to take to trial something they may see as an injustice. |

i somewhat agree. there should however be a screening of all trials.
i haven't studied the american judicial system, but it seems like most of the cases that go thru it, are made from greedy ass people.
i mean, u see ppl sueing companies like starbucks for millions of dollars because they burnt their mouth drinking the coffee. Well what the fck do you expect, dimwit? Its coffee, it's supposed to be hot!
when people stop helping people in distress (as the law says you shall) in fear of being sued, then u know you live in a f'd up country
edit: while it would be super awesome to just recieve alot of money, and esp as americans looove their money; people shouldnt be rewarded for idiocy. |

Well, trials do go through screening. A lot of trials never make it to court. "most cases" are not from greedy people. They're just the ones that you're going to know about through the media. |

bahahahaha... i saw this story on the local news the other night and i wanted to post a thread about it but couldn't find a written article yet!
they were interviewing the dude who was watching his porn, and at the end they asked him "so do you think this incident has turned you away from watching porn?" and his response was "PSH! no way. i'm just going to turn the volume down from now on, or maybe invest in some fancy headphones"

Not really. Apart from the spelling, I prefer to read books/articles in English than in my mother language (Portuguese). No declension, little conjugation, loads of monosyllables AND it's an European language, so you an often guess the meaning of new words :p |
Brazilian-Portuguese;) I am told that when Brazilians speak "Portuguese" in Portugal, the Portugese over there say it's not Portuguese.
I'm just acting like a big know it all really. lol I have a lot of latin friends lately. One of them is really into all the different latin cultures. He's traveled a lot and he knows all the different accents and whatnot. I've been learning a lot from him actually, it's cool. He's from Honduras and has family in Italy too. Most people think he's colombian because of his accent, but I love listening to him imitate the different spanish accents. It used to baffle me that anyone could tell a difference, but it's the same thing as us Americans being able to tell someone from Georgia apart from someone from Minnesota.
lol I just had to double check what thread this was. Sorry for the hijack |
