1999. A year which many will call the "golden age of trance." Anthems, melodic, vocal, monster tunes from a time long past.
Thanksgiving Eve 2005. An idea was brought up to bring back the days and tunes of yesteryear, which resulted in a highly successful night at Space.
February 2007. The idea is brought once again, only to another club in downtown Miami, this one being the Tottem Gardens/UltraLounge, which was formerly the Ice Palace and a film studio.
More memories and history were made.
Edgar V and George Acosta brought the old days back to Miami once again in a long, memorable night in THE most posh nightclub I have ever laud eyes on, inside and outside. Several video screens showed pictures of the original Shadow Lounge and its guest DJs, including BT, Sasha and many, many more. Awesome setting for nostalgia.
The night started out with a surprisingly good turnout early, and later it got packed. Nothing but massive, melodic, energetic tunes from the old days delivered by South Florida's best in the main room. WIll post the tracks I IDd later.
Outside in the garden, my bud Eddie G went renegade and played prog trance/trance where it should have been nothing but house sets. :D
PWN.
There was a LOT of energy, crowd interaction and everything you could want (including some DAMN hot women) last night.
Quite frankly, I got drunk out of my mind on THREE long island teas and had an absolute GREAT time, and so did everyone else, from what I saw. Great seeing a lot of familiar faces, and a big special thanks goes to Ambs, for if it weren't for her, I would have missed out on the Reunion gig for a second consecutive time. Leaving Eddie G at his home to come back to Weston, he asked me to let you all know his gratitude for everyone coming out.
This was def. a great night and anyone who didn't go missed out. Hopefully there will be another show like this. It is defintely
FOR THE WIN.
Took pics with Eddie G's camera, will upload them later on today, but now it's time for me to crash.
DAMN good night.

Incredible, classics that stand out in different, like I told some of my friends, it reminded me the reason of why I got into this music.
Sad that it was time for my ride to leave quite early, but enjoyed joyfully every-one song that was played out.
While walking to my car, Blue Lagoone was been played in the garden, one of those sweet melodic classics.. Loved loved it, the place, had enough millions of dollars parked in front and in the valet area, it was like looking a prestige imports lot. |

I just want to say that this might be my last trance night in Miami and it was GREAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I missed a lil bit of Edgar's set but not like last years when I was walking in on Xpander [his last song]
This year his last song was fuking crazy. MINISTRY OF SOUND CLUBBERS GUIDE 2 IBIZA *haha*
Johnny Shaker - Pearl River
im in a trance of love
i dont know what im gonna do
i get a little lost thinking of you
I can't praise Edgar enough. I think we all love him. I am definitely going to miss seeing him spin down here cuz if he ever comes to NY it won't be the same. Edgar in Miami > anywhere else. But thanks for all the great memories for like 6 years
Anyways George shines on Shadow Lounge Reunion nights. Last years was the best. Don't think anything can top that cuz Talla was thrown in the mix and I remember leaving space in broad daylight and it was still packed. Also, heard way more tracks last year [Cafe del Mar..I can hear u calling..It's not Over]
Track of the night was played by Acosta and I love this song because Datt did a lil Edit to it and he usually plays this song out when I see him:
Solar Stone - Seven Cities [V-One's Living Cities Mix]
and omfg how can I forget.. Dude crazy intro by Acosta. I almost cried.
AYLA - ANGEL FALLS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I used to whore that song out when I was like 15 in my room [lol I"M YOUNG SO EVERYONE STFU!]
This party is always one of the best parties of the year. Hopefully if they promote it long enough my ass will come back for a weekend ;)
Oh yeah useless info but it's pretty funny.. I got to meet George Acosta last night.. only cuz HE wanted to meet this crazy bitch. I don't hate him.. I never said I did [well maybe after FRANK CALLED ME!!lol]. I hate the douche bag Kinetic Energy. :) whoever he is. |

Gonna add a bit to my review...
David Padilla was supposed to play after Eddie G in the garden, but never showed up. Don't know what happened but Eddie's extended set def. kept people dancing. Also, some dude threw a dollar bill at Eddie because he loved the set so much. At first Eddie thought it was just a $1 bill, but it turned out to be a $100 bill :wtf:
On another note, after Eddie G finished the extended set, Joey Velez got up on the decks. He started to play more great like he did at Blue during Super Bowl Weekend. Without Party 93.1 to hold him back, Joey Velez is wrecking the good and proper.

What a great ing night!!!
I'm too dead to type a lot right now... but
SEVEN CITIESSSSS!!!, Komodo, Proximus, Out of the Blue..... I never thought I'd hear these tracks live. Good lord are they beautiful...
And the highlight of my night and a track I've ALWAYS wanted to hear live....
GOURYELLA
Thank you Edgar! I thought I was going to cry, seriously
god that track is beautiful!
Last night I realized that it's not that I don't like trance anymore, but that trance from back in the day was FAR superior over trance from now.... |
