| Well a lot of what was said for Virgo did fit me, but some didn't. I'm too lazy to actually tally up what percentage fit and what didn't. |

Horoscopes are the same as cold readings. For the ones who really want to believe, all you have to do is shoot out a whole bunch of very general statements; the true believers will latch onto the ones that seem true and ignore or rationalize the ones that don't.
Really, who doesn't consider themselves ambitious and having a sense of humour? Who is not both optimistic (at times) and pessimistic (at other times)? Who actually likes dead-end jobs or waiting around?
Horoscopes work precisely because people are not one-dimensional characters. Everything that's said in any horoscope will apply sometimes to everyone.
You want a real personality test, look at something like the Kiersey tests. Don't waste your time trying to learn about your personality or predict your future from celestial orbits and balls of gas. |

I love astrology, zodiac characteristics and horoscopes. Regardless of wether they are accurate or not I find them very fun and interesting.
That being said, I am a Virgo all the way- of all the signs my respective one is by far the best suited to me.

i'm supposed to be a virgo, but not even close. theres a few broad characteristics that I could be all excited about and say..oh this is totally me, but really, I could say that about at least 8 of the other signs too.
what i find funniest though..some people in this thread that say they match their horoscope signs, don't at all. or at least i'd find other ones that match them better. I think Dima has it spot on when he said that overly general statements and self-pompousness as well as an irrational need to have an explanation (or excuse) for our behaviours lead us to latch onto things like horoscopes
all in all, they're nothing more then an interesting read, but they do not hold water.
