| Uh their early stuff can be considered "dark ambient". Their recent stuff falls under the catagory (although it's nothing official) "ethereal pop" music. Essentially, music with pop structure but influenced by shoegazer, goth and dream-pop music, as well as new age and classical music. Essentially, it uses mostly female vocals, that have an other-worldy or angelic feel to it. Sometimes they are just regular sounding vocals with a slight Sarah McLachlan style to them (esp on the CD "Chimera"). I'de say they also are known to do some darkwave/industrial dance music as well (like they did as Front Line Assembly, or on the CD "Flowers Become Screens"), but most of their stuff from "Karma" till now, would be "ethereal-pop". |

| Yeah, I'd say a good generic term would be Down Tempo. Maybe, just maybe New Age for some songs. |

No. Delerium does not make trance.
Trance producers sometimes remix Delerium tracks, but idiots don't know that it's a remix, so they think it's the original track and that Delerium makes trance. |

Depends which era you're looking at, they've been around a long time as a sort of a project of a couple of well known people from the industrial genre. Kind of ironic they'd be known better for their work on Delerium by most :)
I guess new-age/ambient for their later stuff. |

| Delirium after a certain point (semantic spaces album) were considered a "new-age" group, along the lines of deep forest and enigma (they used to play dark ambient/industrial in their older releases though). Just that. |

| I really wouldn't consider (or know why) they would be considered "new age". When I think of "new age" I think of really relaxing music, and although they do have some relaxing stuff, it's hardly new age. Same with Deep Forest and Enigma. Sure they have new age influences, but "ethereal-pop" is the best term to describe Enigma and Delerium's music. Deep Forest, well they would be world fusion. They don't sound very "ethereal". |
