The best is yet to come Rizen..
The Rave has not died tho... Its where it should be, back in the underground. SF still has weekend raves, I just dont frequent them as much as I did back then. growing up, I enjoyed the club scene more. The demise of Homebase was really what hit home for me.
Its just awsome to think that we have a club like 1015 so close to us and every weekend is a party. Its just gotten better and better over the years with the renovations, new sound.. resident Djs and of course, Marie.
A couple weeks ago a patron was kinda laughin at Marie and was like "Are you serious, a woman?" After witnessing her doe a couple things in the mainroom like switch out the mixer in like 15 seconds, he shut his mouth.
When I went to the club, I always made it a point to Dance, and brought many Ravers with me to create battles with other crews... When I cooled down, I chilled with the Djs that were spinning that night, sometimes creeping up into the booth mainroom or in the basement where I used to Watch Djs like Cyber Joe. I learned how to Dj by watching others, learning how to beatmatch on my own, and learning about mixers. Im sure all of you remember me at some time or another watching you spin.. Andrew MD and Ish especially those Orgy Events. I remember I always used to get funny looks from the promoters or club official that was standing there, cause most of the time I was pretty..
I went to other clubs like Space550, and Kelly's Mission Rock. Twin Peaks.. Snodrift... None of em ever made my weekend like weekends at 1015 did though...
Heres some old photos...

Younger Cyber Joe...
D-Fuse with the old RANE Rotary mixer..

I think this was me.. I cant be too sure...
Theres still a whole bunch I need to put up, right now Im running a search on my old secondary pc to see what comes up. Stuff from 2001 and earlier I had some really good photos of... |

Damn, all of this talk has triggered my memory banks. I freaking love it and it always brings a smile to think back to "those" days. I used to live at 1015 back in the days. Every Friday and Saturday, Here I come... I would always switch back and forth from the Main Room's Headliners and then Gianni in the Blue Room. Nikita and Release.
After Homebase closed down, this is as close as you could get to that Vibe. And I gotta admit, lately, at 1015, it has just gotten better and better and reminded of the Great Times from back in "those" days. So we have to thank Taj for all of the incredible energy he has putten into bringing 1015 back and all of the Local DJs who have come out and played some incredible and amazing sets and a splash of the headliners who rotate into the mix.
I don't think Ruby Skye could ever have that same vibe 1015 has. The venue doesn't allow it to, the DJ booth doesn't allow it to, the people who frequent it don't allow it to. For me, it's still always about 1015. Back to my roots Babyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Again Taj! |

I gotta find those old schooler pix of AndrewMD and the guys from Space550... The pix I took were pretty awsome... They had a green Argon lazer in one of em, and people were jumping in front of the booth during his set. Good times...
mdub I was right there with ya homie!
The greatest night I had at 1015 had to be when Armin Van Buuren came out with Harry Lemon (Lemon 8) and his brother Eller Van Buuren, during his 76 Tour.
Anyone who was there and who stayed that night for his 6 hour set will remember at the end, with people chanting more, more, more... Armin saying to all of us.. "ok everyone, time to go home"...
Somewhere in the middle of the crowd a Raver cried out "No!!!!I dont want to go home!!"
The whole place laughed..definitely was a great night. Looks like I'll have to start a thread on this topic.. "1015 and why I love it" or something like that.. |

Most importantly I want to thank YOU TAJ!! For bringing us all these djs weekend after weekend!! :D
I remember the FIRST time I went to 1015. I was 19 years old with a fake ID I made on my brothers computer (ssshhhhhhh! :wtf: )... I was amazed by this place. It was 5 crazy rooms, and I remember the front room was VERYYY different then it is today. I came to see Oakenfold at 1015 after he performed at the fillmore (i think?). I remember getting a professional 15 minute massage on a massage chair upstairs for only $10... it was on the left side of the dance floor. I thought that it was really cool that 1015 has a masseuse!! haha... getting a massage while hearing some killer house choons at a club was quite the experience. :)
Anyways, enough of the rambling. I just want to thank TAJ for making 1015 what it is today... I have NEVER felt a better vibe at 1015 then I do today... :p |
