I think someone needs to relax a little dont u
this is something ive noticed a lot recently actually, this mentality of "oh-this-isnt-deep-and-meaningful-or-in-direct-relation-to-tiesto-or-ferry-so-its-just-gay!" with regards to threads. personally i like threads like these, the offer a bit of variety to "oh did u hear Southern sun!" remember trance is about everyone dancing to the same beat, we dont need elitism. torontotrance is a big offender here

I'm glad someone has pointed this out cos i really do agree, ppl seem to forget that this community is expanding constantly and gets new memebers everyday. So whilst it can annoy me when i see threads like 'the best top 10 vocal trance of all time', it also enlightens me to see so many ppl sharing a love for the same music i do. We were all 'baby tranceaddicts' at some point, some people seem to forget this!
i can tell you that only till about a month ago was i aware of the search facility. and it REALLY pisses me off to see this 'high and mighty attitude' that some people take. particularly when these 'annoying' threads were fuelled by good intentions.
Ppl like starfox(if it's not you then i apoligise mate)flameppl for these 'annoying' threads but i think it can equally be said that it is just annoying that when a person asks for some 'killer german trance albums' they are only told of.

We all know that Starfox is a PVD-head so would others just see that reply/thread as a waste of time? Personally, it doesn't annoy me too much; i just laugh. But if he was to (not saying that u have, can't remember mate) slag off a new comer for making a thread about 'southern sun' then that makes him a total hypocrite.
It's like the guy above me ses, if it annoys u that much just ignore it don't reply to him in a derogatory manner. well i've ranted off enough now...
I'm not slaggin u personally off- any of u. Ur all cool and never have i known of such a cool place to hang out on the web, but just be more tolerant of others |

if people would stop replying saying "Oooh...we've seen too many of these threads..." the threads would drop out of the page.
only by replying will you keep seeing the thread.
answer the persons question, post something funny or worth-while, or stop complaining. |

we have to understand that there are new users joining our community constantly. of course they will post threads like "what's your top 10?" or "what's your fav liveset?" because they wanna ask us about the music we're listening. if we reply to them in that rude manner "oh, we have a thousand threads like this, go find them and be quiet" they will be offended. and it's tough for newbies :) so let's be kind to each other and not fight :p |

I totally agree. The search facility works e on my 56K at home (cable at uni ;)) and therefore I cant use it. Sometimes, you have to make a new thread - like I did yesterday, asking about vinyl online outlets - it worked.
People who had seen a previous thread sent me links, people who hadn't sent me advice.
If you ask me, the system works fine.
If you don't have anything nice/good to say on a reply, then dont bother! |
