I really don't see anyone taking anything personally. The only point being made is that generally throughout ALL of TA, not just MWTA, advertising and promotion are acceptable on a very subjective basis, and when done in a proper manner.
The bottom line is that it's still advertising someone else is paying for - I really don't think it's too much to expect a bit of participation on the forums in return. |

The one (of many) areas I think people like Bobby, myself, and others do need to be aware of is new people arriving on the forum who haven't so much as had the chance to sort out this concept - which isn't to say we ALWAYS immediately "jump" on new members, because we certainly don't, but there has to be room for people to have a chance to become a part of the community and understand its dynamics; just like any other social group.
This is why what I mentioned earlier about Geo8902157808 and haider, and even artists a bit further along in their careers than the rest of us (Blake, Hampertons, Seneca, Topher, Baltic Bloc, Ben, Khoury, Darin, I'm looking in your direction :p) etc. These folks have a vested interest in the scene, their clubs, their music careers, and their promotions - but have also taken the time to occasionally take the piss on the forums and provide a good laugh or some relevant information/discussion that is beyond the scope of their financial/personal interest.
That, to me, is ing great to see - because it only strengthens the TA community as well as the EDM community in the midwest. |
