Technics SLDZ1200 or Pioneer CDJ-800 MKII

Hello all, just wanted to see your opinions on these 2 DJ CD players. I was wondering if the Technics pitch accuracy is better than the CDJ-800 Mk II's. My setup so far is Pioneer DJM-707 with the EFX-500. I do scratch sometimes on a few Techno/Electro tracks..and I also do trance as well. I heard the Technics scratch function isnt so great when the Master Pitch is on as it has this digital fluff/reverb distortion going on..but I've heard it on the youtube video and it has that different digital sound that I might or could use. When the pitch button is set on off, it scratches fine or so I've heard. Thanks

I'd say the CDJ-800's are better for mixing, hands down.

A friend of mine had the 1200's, and sold them for CDJ-1000's.

But I guess you should try both in person and decide that way!

Do not get the SLDZs. I hate those things.

That's the general concensus I've heard too, though I can't say I've played on them other than seeing them in the store.

DO NOT GET THE TECHS!! these things are toys. the plater sucks and so does the fuctionality.

pios are the standard in most clubs for a reason. they are very accurate and easy to use.

If your going to mix, either the CDJ 200 or 800 MK2s (good if you want to do some scratching too). If you want to do heavy scratching, sampling, looping all of that..then the 1000 MK3s. The 1000 MK3s are over-kill for just mixing. As others have said, stay away from the Technics. Another alternative are the Denon DN-S3500s, which are probably your next best bet to the 800MK2, considering they play MP3s, are good for scratching, and the same price.

they look nice though, i saw some guy @ the mall spinning and he they looked nicer than my 1000...

I think the DN-S3500's look great too... and they have some effects and such on them. They DID have a LOT of firmware issues, but I believe the latest firmware corrects them all.

i think most poeple think so......

I think most people use the pioneers:

A. Because they work, and work well.
B. They came out first.

I think the 3500 is a solid deck.
