(Sorry if this isnt where its suppose to be)

Hey everyone,

I finaly have some money to spend on some monitors, and I'd like to know whats the best deal for my moneys worth.

I have up to about $500 to spend, I could go over but I'd rather not :tongue2

I saw someone recommend some behringer ones, but I forgot the model.
So can you guys please post yours if you would recommend them, how long you've had them and the sound quality!

I mix dnb and trance mostly just so you all know.
Thanks :D

If you want something professional that sounds right, Mackie HR-824 are the ones. When it comes to equipment, higher the price, better the product.

edit: Don't get Behringers if your ears are important to you :)

I used one KRK 5 for a monitor recently and it was pretty good quality for the price...there's one on eBay right now for 100 bucks.

seems KRK is a popular brand, but I heard the bass isnt too great on them. I saw a few reviews that said their good for the price, and for a first pair.. whatever that meant but it doesnt sound like a compliment :p

can anyone who has any KRK monitors post what they think?

thanks for the replies

KRK monitors are renowned for being generally ace.

Event monitors are great. They have a lot of differet models and all of them are very good.

Also look into getting a BBE sonic maximiser. It works wonders for your low end.

renowned by noobs :P
everyone else knows they're crap.

if you're only using them for djing, buy behringers. theyre loud, have good bass, and u wont cry if you blow them up.

if you want to use them for producing at any stage, then i would go for something like mackies or events. BUT, you need to understand, good monitors like mackies and events probably wont "sound good" to you until you get an appreciation for good, flat, frequency response. KRKs sound impressive to the untrained ear (boosted lows and highs), thats why theyre bad monitors. they have a very unflat and coloured sound.
