listening thru the cd now.
so far i think its actually quite emotional
typical tij style...i think
Carpe Noctum reminds me of traffic..its got that one main melody
never went too crazy about traffic...except when it got played at some top 40 club. lol that was the only time i was like YES!! good music!
so far not bad:)
ill have to listen to it about 5 more times to finalize an overall decision though!
party on!
poli
its ok, nothing special
Carpe Noctum sounds like Traffic
Break My Fall sounds like Love Comes Again
Bright Morningstar, I liked it better when it was Jonas Steur - Silent Waves
Fav Track: Elements Of Life

I don't think it needs any elaboration....just because someone chooses to waste $500 + dollars on tiesto doesn't mean they are entitled to steal from him or the record company.....and thats exactly what piracy is....thats like saying you spent $500.00 at McDonalds so next time you order a Big Mac Combo you are not paying for it.
if someone was handing out Big Mac combos from the back door of the mcdonalds for free, then i would use that back door.....

hm....i thought it was alright. really liked 'everything'!

Oh How the Mighty Have Fallen!!!
Tiesto has pretty much lost me, but unlike most of his one-time fans, I don't hate him and spend my life bitching about how he "sold out". Some of his greatest mix cds (Magiks, ISOS, etc) still get playtime in the car, while doing work, etc.
The first track is nice, but 2 and 3 are blah. Carpe whatever is a decent track but nothing in it conveys "memorable". Tracks 5 and 6 are worse than 2 and 3...#7 Bright Morning Star is again, decent, but is merely a rehash of an old track so..... Tracks 8 and 9 are ing horrible...absolutely horrible. I always thought Dance For Life was embarrassingly awful and it it still is to my ears. Arguably the best track, outside of the first, is Elements of Life, which is a pretty good effort.
But overall, this feels very uninspired. Most artists eventually lose or alienate their fanbase and, while Tiesto might still impress the noobs and his notoriously diehard loyalists, I feel the longer that people have been into this scene, the less likely they are to appreciate what he does today.
I'd give the album a 5 out of 10.

Irrelevant, because he was never behind his productions either way, so that has nothing to do with it. What this album clearly lacks is the inspiration that say Geert Huinik brought, and that was evident in tracks like Magik Journey.
To me this album lacks any sort of emotional journey through melody. Even the first album had vocal tracks so that's not really an issue here, but there's no depth to any of the songs. Closest track to any real kind of emotional response (to me) is Elements of Life but even that isn't close to say ... Magik Journey.
i agree, this album does lack an emotional journey. I rate this album a 5/10, i think only 3 songs are worth listening too, the rest are just ok, this is definitely not an album i would go back to listen to over and over again.
