| Leap was uber-sick, or else I would have made the trek to this legendary venue. It will be missed for sure; can't wait to hear all the reviews come in, and i hope someone took some pictures! |

I recorded my set and plan on releasing it as a promo in mid-April.
To the best of my knowledge, none of the other sets were recorded. |
jeff your set was amazing. perfect programming and mixing.. and anyone that has gone to BOA/Sonic knows for a fact that sound system is not forgiving. good job dude! |

now for my actual review of the evening.
bitter sweet are two perfect words to describe last night. it was amazing seeing all those familiar faces, and tons of new ones! i can't believe that im actually saying goodbye to the same building twice. i pray that one day ill be dancing my ass off under that roof again.
JEFF BUTTON! holy dude. your set was ing amazing. you got that whole dance floor MOVING! you deserved this too dude. years apon years of work for that venue, either if it was BOA or Sonic.. you deserved that slot, and wow you ing killed it!
BRAD COPELAND. Solid as always. Picked it up right where Jeff left off, and his set only got better and better as the night went on.
NEVIO. up and down.. throughout it all. really couldn't get a good flow going.
CAJMERE WRAY. first time seeing him, and i was actually impressed. i heard some classic oldies in his set. great flavour!
JOHNNY WHITE. solid as always. i love dirty tribal.
i couldn't have asked for a better atmosphere last night. the people were amazing, the vibe insane, and the music couldn't get better. thank you to the BOA/Sonic staff that made all these years possible in that building. it will be truly missed.
ps. ERICA KELLY IS THE ! |

Wicked, wicked night. Many of my sentiments have been expressed above. Two things I'd like to add:
(1) RE: Jeff. Wow dude. You absolutely stole the show last night IMO, in part, because I don't think anyone knew what to expect from your first time playing in that room. I honestly can't say I was all that surprised, given the countless hours you have spent in that DJ booth learning from top notch guys such as Sean Miller, as well as the countless hours I have listened to you hone your skills/sound over the past year. I can't wait to see what comes next, my friend, starting next weekend at the Docks and then in April at O Lounge with the always amazing Nathan Barato...:whip:
(2) RE: Nevio. Thank you, man. Most people on these boards can't probably appreciate the massive financial and personal risk that you took over the past year or so to make Sonic happen. I, for one, have great respect for the decisions you made and what you accomplished. For all the second guessing and scrutiny that this venue has had to endure, I must say that for me at least, Sonic was hands-down the best club environment in the city (music/sound system/lights/dance floor/staff/patrons, etc.). Thank you. Sincerely. Nevio + Sonic, FTW....:whip:
That's it. Peace out.
Sonic RIP. |

Wow amazing night last night, I couldnt stop maoving no matter where I was!
Jeff your set was amazing and I will be one of the first to be looking to get my hands on a copy of that promotional CD. Brad As always brought his A game and funked and flowed us through two hours of dancing bliss.
Some great people out last night to end the era of a great club. So many smiling faces, the vibe on the dance floor was great and ever time I go out I met more and more fabulous people. Thank you to all who put a smile on my face and you know who you are.....
R.I.P. Sonic (hope to see you back as Boa) |

Maybe we can raid the chinese restaurant when it moves to that space and have an illegal party :)
I'm having a hard time believing that it's closed down...and that I didn't make it to it's final day...but I have no regrets. RIP to my 2nd home. |
