do a bit of google searching for pay raise letters. get some basic ideas from those about what you could say in your own letter... then write one up and submit it to her. even if your job isn't the most formal/professional position in the universe, submitting a well-written letter shows that you're serious and driven.
with all those pregnant hormones raging through her, it'll be hard for her to say no. ;) |

Demand all-you-can-drink fountain Cokes and all-you-can-eat of those hotdogs on the rollers for the rest of your life.
If she says no, change hotdogs to microwavable burritos as a counter-offer. |

How long is maternity leave? 6 months? A year?|
If you were to stay that much longer you could potentially be setting yourself up to be stuck there beyond that time. She'll like what you did while she was gone, or she likes you over and will want you to stay even when she's back and you might still feel obligated to stay even though you don't want to.
It happens to a lot of people, and I've seen it happen at my work. So I'd be very careful with this decision. |

+1
her baby isn't your responsibility. but like someone said, if u guys have always been cool and she has always treated you with respect and stuff, then i dunno...i guess maybe see if she'll take the raise bait and maybe you can make some more money?
i dunno though, i could never stay at a work place i was miserable at. too many other jobs out there. |

kind of odd that you are saying you'll be gone in two weeks in search of another job.
Don't quit till you have something lined up elsewhere
1. Pay Raise
2. Agree to help for a couple months or whatever you are cool with
3. Kidnap baby, ask for ransom, get the money, quit.
Bingo |

Thing is, I was already applying like crazy. See, this is my first job... I kind of just wanted to get the experience. I really had no idea I was going to be asst. manager after only two months. |
