Exactly....even school does this to me...sometimes even if I am interested in some stuff...they burden us with so much work that I lose my liking for the stuff....
And then there are so many places I have not been able to go, so many parties that I have sacrificed for skool...makes me think if school is really worth it....anybody else feel this way???
I completely disagree. IMO, this movie is best appreciated sober. If you are only capable of having certain thought patterns when you're high, you're just not getting it...
Anyways, a classic movie, and two fantastic scenes you picked. I don't know if school here is really THAT burdensome. Most people are just lazy and look for some form of easy understanding and quick gratification.

Something i noticed is that a lot of girls who watch this movie get caught up with the weirdness of the Kevin Spacey/Mena Suvari relationship and miss the end revelation.
Not saying that's necessarily what happened with you, but could be.
For me I think it was a number of things - first of all I don't like Mena Suvari or Thora Birch, secondly I think what you're saying with the relationship between Kevin Spacey and Suvari did kind of weird me out, and that other guy in the movie was kinda weird too. All in all I just think I didn't like the movie.
On the other hand however, I don't think it was poorly written, nor do I doubt the talent in the movie. I just wasn't my thing.

Well, see... thats a tough one... of course, you'll have to sacrifice celebrations and party if you've been called to school or to work... and thats life - besides, a celebration is only justified if its earned... and an earned celebration is always more jubilant.

Yea...I guess I could have said it better...there is a joke where a man who is real frustrated and upset with his life asks an astrologer about his future. The astrologer told him that his life will be just as miserable for the next years. The guy told the astrologer that he will somehow manage those five years, what happens after that? The astrologer told him that after that you'll just get used to it...
This is analogous to how I feel about skool...I enjoy skool at times but sometimes they just push it and take the fun out of it...does this only happen to me?????

Still one of my all-time fav movies to see stoned "Blade Runner", after "The Dark Side of Oz" (The Wizard of Oz (muted) with Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon in the background)
Anyway, I can't wait for the re-release of the theatrical version of Blade Runner and the new DVD's this year to celebrate the 25th anniversary.
This sci-fi cult classic is still one of the deepest and most philosopical flicks of all time...:toocool:

I found Mena Suvari and Wes Bentley's relationship the weirdest relationship of the lot...but it practically defines plutonic relationships...they are pretty lucky to have found each other..dun think they would get along very well with others...
I really felt bad for Kevin Spacey, the way he died in the end...but then I feel that it was good that he died, cos he found his life more of a burden....he cun really live like this,...

I preferred this take on it, personally:
