Just add that to my list of reasons why I don't like Pacha. I have such a hatred for that place I don't know if I will be able to overcome it...even for Ferry (next month) whom I love dearly.

We arrived for bottle service and were told that the credit card and ATM machines were down and we had to pay cash... Some of us were prepared; but others rely on their credit cards so you don't have to carry around rediculous amounts of cash. So we basically emtied our pockets to get our entire party in.

What business accepting credit cards doesn't have the ole fashioned carbon/swipe machine? They give them for a reason! And what were we supposed to do? Wander around in 4" of snow on the streets till we found an ATM?

It took us over an hour to be seated; for after we forked over a small fortune; they tried to sit us behind a huge speaker upstairs...My I was just in hyper-aggitated mode after the trails just to get there; but I wasn't happy with pacha as a whole that night either.

OMG I would be SOOOO PISSED about this! You pay all of that money to be VIP....VIP is supopsed to be treated in a certain way. period. that is what you pay them for. I would DEMAND some of my money back, because if you pay for services advertised (immediate seating, etc), you get them or its false advertisement. Imgaine if the credit card machine was down or they couldn't seat right away for a "real" vip like a celebrity or something.

I seriously HATE PACHA and wouldn't go there again for anyone but my top 3 DJ's.....and on top of that, they had very little control over the crowd....There was a fight right next to me in the middle of the dancefloor and not ONE bouncer came over to break it up. It ended on its own. The people jumping into the booth and THROWING things in armins face/gear was ridiculous!!! .....madeevents needs to get their asses back to Crobar, I have never had a problem there and there is 10x more room. (never thought I would say that!) I hope made/pacha reads these complaints!! I hate just about everything with that club. :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip:

Did anyone notice they were shining the lasers at your face? I thought this was illegal (at least in the U.S.). Perhaps the new "liquid-cooled, multi-color" laser Stellar is using is safer...

this is an odd question, lol.

i didnt notice. they were shining lasers everywhere. maybe it just seemed that they went in ur face because Pacha was such a small room compared to other venues. where else would the lasers go? :conf: :conf: :conf: :conf:

Below is a quote from a Clubplanet.com article printed before the Armin @ Tobacco Warehouse show (7/4/06), but they may be using a different (safer) laser now:

"LD: When you look up, instead of the roof, you see sky and the bridge. It’s between the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan Bridge; it’s where U2 performed, and it’s the spot for our Armin Van Buuren shows. There is one permit our pro, AJ from Stellar Designs, will have to file in order for us to operate our lasers.

MB: You have to be a licensed operator for the class of laser beam we’ll be using.

LD: The laser shoots out from the stage and you have to be very careful where you walk. When the laser is in operation, you can’t pass in front of it or it will burn you."

there are other issues with lasers in open air events such as FAA regs that need to be complied with so planes flying dont get all effed up, i know pvd in the park needed cooperation with the FAA, armin granted was in a tent so it wasnt a factor there. but hell yeah that shiz is dangerous, can burn ur retina but good if u look right at it.

When the machine is down there should be a way to enter the card numbers manually and override the swipe system. It depends on what type of system they have. Either way its bad for bussiness and a major inconvenience.
