Need internet and cable at my new place, any ideas on who I should use?
Aquadyne
i can get you a russian hook-up. 100$ one time fee gets you both. no PPV though.

if you prefer a legal arrangement - i'd recommend comcast.

i know tons of people that work for RCN and you don't want them in charge of your cable :nervous:

my neighbors have comcast, wouldn't it be easy for them to find out about my russian hook-up?
Aquadyne
they take care of the neighbors too

extra 50$

The neighbors unit has the comcast wire already running into their unit, so if they ever have a problem and comcast comes out, wouldn't they notice a mysterious wire running into our unit?

p.s. this reminds me of a Seinfeld episode.

watch out for comcast's hidden fees :whip:

RCN has some really great rates from what I've seen

never had comcast, but RCN blows. Just don't get SBC.

I was sucked in by the low promotional rates of the harpies (comcast)
UWM
I'm really looking forward to having Comcast in a month and a half so I can watch HD channels that come in about 35% of the time.

without my Colbert Report and History Channel, I am dead to the world

Comcast has a pretty bad rep in Chicago area... I have it, its ok right now - its been ok for a while now (knock on wood) but there are times when the speed is really crap it feels like ur on dialup and you feel like shooting yourself. And of course, this usually only happens when you have some kind of deadline where you *NEED* fast internet to upload some 100MB+ file. :< I dont know anything about RCN. I am paying an arm and a leg for basic cable + internet too (they tell me its "because of where I live".. what.. Chicago???), that's one area where the burbs shine, they dont pay and have very fast internet. but i am digressing.
