Its like Tiesto.. people who love him can pay like up to $100 bucks or more to go see him, where as if your not a tiesto fan you wouldnt go if he even did a free show outside Eaton Centre.

The dialog was corny, the character development was non existent, and most of the scenes where direct translations of the comic. The movie itself is riddled with historical inaccuracies. About the only part which I enjoyed was the stylised violence, but even that had far too much CGI for me.

Overall, a decent movie, but not deserving of the type of hype it has recieved.

I haven't seen the movie so that's why I missed the joke.

That's a lie. You were offended, not because you missed the joke - but because you thought the joke, was infact the truth.

You're an idiot.
You should get banned from a lot more than 300...like, procreation, perhaps.

Thank you for being the first plank to reveal herself in this thread.

:haha:

Indeed. I posted it here to see who would laugh and get the ubsurdity of the post (not to mention the obvious reference to the movie) and who would get their panties in a twist cause I joked about kicking a couple of fictious dykes in the chest.

People amaze me...even if you haven't seen the movie. Even if you've never read any of my posts (for the last 5 years) THINK ABOUT IT --- operative word being "THINK".

IF I kicked someone in the chest -- do you think the first thing I'd do is post it on a message board ? Ponder it for a few days...and while you're at it, try to develop a sense of humor as well. ;)

:haha:  :tongue2

Well duh! It's based on a frickin comic book. Of course it'll be historically inaccurate.

Having said that, I think the movie is seriously overhyped too. Even the violence was too much. Way too much slo-mo, but I guess without it the movie would only be like an hour or so, lol.

The best part of the film was Jim McNulty (from The Wire). I forget the actors name, but he's the Spartan traitor in 300.

there is a scene in the movie where one of the characters says "this is madness" to which the spartan king replies "this is sparta " and kicks him into the pit (please don't quote me , I haven't seen the film yet just the trailer , so I may have the details a little off)

what offended you most that he kicked a woman or that he kicked a lesbian

Yep, that happened in the movie. Also the 'earth and water' thing was also partly why they kicked them in that pit/well and said "Dig it out for yourselves" as it were.

As for the post, LOL. Awesome joke.

There were historical inaccuracies but the movie wasn't copied from history it was copied from a comic book like Peter said. having said that there were still a lot of things that were accurate, just not the some of the portrayals.

no no. i didn't say it was funny. i didn't really know all of the joke too. but by reading the replies i was able to tell it was fake. but you reacted like it was real. that was the funny part.

i didn't particularly find the whole thing funny in the beginning.
