But realistically, the Junos are so ... blah. How many nominations do Sarah McLachlan, Diane Krall, Shania Twain, Nickelback, Nelly Furtado, etc. get every year? The Junos just seem to be an exclusive club of artists and to be honest, it comes off as bland and uninteresting... which is really sad given how diverse and GOOD a lot of lesser known Canadian music is.

Yeah, some artists seem to get nominated every year regardless of whether they actually put out anything of value during that year. Basically ANYTHING they produce, regardless how and how much of a flop it is, gets them a nomination.

I didn't know the Juno mattered.

That thing is so irrelevant

Honestly there must be at least a dozen more deserving artists, this is just sad

they need to award Danny D's PR rep not Danny D..

yep, exactly!

at least hatiras won one year! Award shows are never about the 'most deserving' candidate, so don't get to upset.

Of course not. The panel that selects these artists have no idea whats going on.

Atleast when they are the Viewer's choice, they are based on what the public thinks. Still not the best, but definitely better than then rest.

Max Graham didnt get nominated because Owner of a Lonely Heart was not a canadian production in the legal sense. One of the requirements for a Juno is commercial radio play and the artists listed this year have had considerable radio play including Danny D (since he works at 103)

Guys like John Acquaviva etc make a good product but it's not a rotated song. Perhaps Canada should have a serious dance music awards cerimony but the problem is that in the canadian music industry, dance music is literally an afterthought.
