Ottawa thanks Montreal (and to a lesser extent Toronto) because of the notable lineups its sound inferior club is getting:

Without proximity to these two cities, maybe we wouldn't get these bookings. Sure, the city's population is just over 1M, but this city otherwise cures your insomnia and keeps your bank account above water.

wow, that is pretty intense. Beats the hell out of, well, a lot of months in Toronto over the past year.
Is there really enough of a crowd willing to pay $40-$60 for a night out every week? Didn't think the government was paying nearly that well :eyes: |

All the dj's usually come only on Friday nights...Now the superstar Dj's like Morales, Armin, Sanchez and Benassi have only performed on Wednesdays. Then Rank1 and Infected Mushroom on Sundays. Only Markus Schulz and C&C came on a Friday.
Saturdays are resident nights (Balu/MV)...its more packed than Friday nights on a regualar basis. I heard it wasn't that busy for Preach. Clamaran on March 15 was pretty good but nothing like Shultz. Haven't seen Heaven that pumped since Sanchez came back in November.
I'm telling ya...the trance dj's have been a huge sucess for Neil's club...parties from Rank1, Shulz (I was there), Infected Mushroom and Benassi were huge for the EDM scene here in Ottawa.
But 60 for Armin on Wednesday..Wow that a lot of coin to shell out but it will be sold out though. Heaven does a good job of announcing the booking of big dj's ahead of time in order for peeps to get time of work and/or school. |
