I went to this to here the newest trance records on a big system. He played new bad records and the system was weak at best.

Oaky delivers here and there.

I take that as a testament that Studio Mezmor didn't do much with the system, huh? It's too bad that the two major big rooms in NYC have such ty sound compared to places like Love & Cielo.

(And at least you went to Digweed later, which I'm sorry you didn't enjoy, gathering from your review).

well got there early cause i didn't wanna stand in line forever like the past couple times, so got there at 12 and walked right in which i was somewhat epecting given digweed @ pacha.... paid my herrendous $40 (X2) and got in to find about 100 people at max in the small room cause the main room wasn't open yet. the best part of the night happened about 2 minutes later. i just get in and i hear the guy next to me call out my name, so i turn around and it turns out its my friend from the UK which i haven't seen since ibiza 05'!! it was so random that he would be there and it was such an awesome surprise cause i haven't spoken to him since the last time i saw him. he just came back from the conference and i was spending the week here in NYC......

got in the main room and liquid todd was on the decks playing a pretty sick warm up set! every track was better then the next and he was playing alot of techy trance along with some house. oakey started at 1:30 to a half capacity crowd and he started pretty hard and i thought it was gonna be a good set and i would get my money's worth. sh*t was i wrong!!! after he played about 3 good tracks he completely lost himself, his set had no flow, even though his track selection was ok, i saw him near the decks for about 2 minutes altogether!! he was too busy doing coke and talking to all the people in the dj booth, the sound guy @ studio was behind those decks alot more then he was! he never gave a and he obviously didn't wanna be there, his mixing was non existant, he ed up the bass almost everytime, trainwreck after trainwreck, just absolute sh*t! :whip:  :whip: makes me think that his show on sirius is pre-recorded in his hotel room or by somebody else... and he only played for an hour and a half! (which turned out to be good cause i couldn't take it anymore

Tong came on at 3 and i was really anxious to see what he was gonna spin since he seems to be a totally different DJ everytime i see him, plus he spins with ableton (i think) so i was really looking forward to it. And it wasn't gonna be hard to top chokenfold's ty performance. He played a pretty good set, very electro and only played a couple recognizable tracks. he started off slow but then picked it up quickly and it was very enjoyable even though alot of tracks were kinda bland and didn't stand out, but the energy was there and he kept me moving which is more then i can say for oakey. he played this awesome tracks with vocals that sound from some track in the 70's but i can't ID and i would love to know what it is. maybe a new Sharam production?

left around 5 cause i was just exhausted from working 28 hours in 2 days!

Shame on everyone here (slaps your hands) for going to this and missing the DJ clinic put on by Digweed a few blocks north.

Tong getting on the mic at the end of Oakie's set was my favorite part also LOL. If I could have been back there again, I would have booed like Yankees fans on A-Rod. I wouldn't be surprised if the Sirius shows are pre-recorded and touched up by some producer or engineer.

That 70's vocals track that Tong spun was probably Supertramps 'Goodbye Stranger (One Night Stand Mix)' - a white label according to the Essential Selection tracklisting from a few weeks ago.

For good Oakenfold (back when he would still be into it and all), here's a good clip to check out. I was actually there for this set - at Space Miami during WMC '04, and it was probably one of the best Oakenfold sets I've heard. He dropped this tune and Man with No Name - Teleport as encores (no joke), and included an updated version of Orange (his Lemon re-rub from the Goa mix), a few 90s tracks, the u2 Beautiful Day remix and some stuff from the Creamfields CD. It was a great set, and everybody left the dancefloor when Sandra Collins came on afterwards with some progressive. Oh yeah, and the man spun for 3 hours that night - still short by NYC standards, but double the 1 1/2 hr joke from this past weekend.

I was wearing a sorta white shirt, in teh center of the floor towards the left side. Next time, feel free to just say what's up.

Yeah, that night at Space was awesome - one of my highlights from WMC that year, puts this past weekend to shame.

Umm yeah , I havent been out in a while and didnt roll in till about three. I went to meet my cuz from cali. I guess I missed the whole Okie fiasco , luckily. Pete Tong was mediocre as well . Last time I saw him at crobar he was much better. I ended up leabing around 5 also. Not worth the money!
