I saw it simply for the shock when i was 16. Looking back, it seemed more like a snuff film than a violent film depicting a government "in its most extreme form."
It resembles Men Behind the Sun, which features a Japanese military group conducting experiments on POWs during world war 2, which includes shock classics as an actual autopsy done on a little boy specifically made for the film, putting a man in a presure chamber and feeding a live cat to hungry rats.

They aren't very good films, horrible directing, but people pass them off as BRILLIANCE because they don't try and tone down TRUE history!

If you honestly thought Equilibrium was a good movie....yikes.

I guess you don't mind a movie that takes itself ultra-seriously while just going from one cliche to the next. Watch 1984 or The Matrix and call it a day :p

It isn't a don't see really; it is true history. But therefore it does not make this a movie worth-seeing.

I found From Dusk Till Dawn to be all kinds of badass. The movie was just plain fun. Nothing to be taken seriously, I laughed at parts that werent funny, it has Salma Hayek, it has Tarantino duck taping his hand after a bullet pierces through it, and best of all, it has Harvey Keitel. Cant go wrong if you ask me.

Pulp Fiction is my favorite movie of all time. Agree or disagree, it still doesnt change the fact that I've watched the entire movie over 30 times and still love every second of it.

Saw The Departed not too long ago. Loved it. Its no Taxi Driver or Goodfellas, but its damn close.

Elaborate plz?

BTW, BLACK DAHLIA - CROCK OF SH!TE that stinks to high heavens

Irreversible was one f*cked up movie but definitely worth a watch for those who are into French Hard-core cinematography + it had Monica Belluci.

I am actually quite fond of some french movies, bad as they may be. Some of my faves:

- Just about anything by Luc Besson (which includes many's favorite "The Fifth Element". I also enjoyed the "13th District", even tho it was rather silly.

Also, the original french versions of "Taxi" and "Taxi 2" were pretty good. "Brotherhood of the wolf" had some of the most amazing cinematography I've ever seen.

"Doberman" was crazy funny/violent at the same time. Sort of along the lines of typical Brit crime movies - LSATSB/Trainspotting.

more to come...
