just as long as its got that shoegazing, ulrich vibe im ing DOWN!
in fact, i bought the 2 MBV CDs this last month, and the melodies just stick in my head for days after listening to them. Kevin Shields is definately a genius. A collab between Ulrich and Shields would be ING GOLDEN! I should be agent and do that match=up.
I listened to some Longview songs, and I dont know if im too happy with ulrich being with them. They're not really his style. Good rock band, but I can't really see ulrich's keys getting much focus there. I dont know though, haven't heard any of their collab. efforts, just the ulrich remixes which are awsome. |

| i'm sure you're right spirit5...i think a lot of people might be disappointed by his upcomming album because it's not going to be what they expected. it definitely sounds a lot more shoegazey...which i don't really mind, but yeah gonna be different from the previous albums... |

I have had a chance to hear the album and I must say it is quite different from his previous 2, however there is still that trademark Schnauss sound apparent.
My picks from the album so far are Shine and Goodbye, although I think Shine would sound like bliss without the vocals (its still a beautiful song however with the vocals). |

Yeah but hopefully it will have the same melodic feel. I mean Slowdive is shoegazer, but they aren't just walls of noise (well some of their stuff, but not the stuff on Souvlaki, which I own). Some shoegazer music has too much feedback and is depressing. Hopefully it'll have a balance between dark and light, like on "A Strangely Isolated Place". |

The darkest song easily is Medusa. In terms of a balance between dark and light, I would say there are definately more "light" songs than dark songs. There are a lot more vocals as well. :) |

I didn't think 'Medusa' was on 'Goodbye'. I thought it was scheduled for release on the 'Quicksand Memory EP' which is due before the album. On Ulrich's MySpace, 'Medusa' is taken from 'Quicksand Memory EP and not 'Goodbye'. |

It's there: http://www.discogs.com/release/949531
'Medusa' is probably my fav off the album, together with 'Stars' and 'Goodbye'.
I really enjoyed the album, but it was nothing amazing imo. What bothered me most is that it sounded too much like 'A Strangely Isolated Place'; I don't know, maybe I expected a bigger progression in Ulrich's sound.
But it will probably grow on me as most of his works do. |

| Hmmm.....I wonder what will be on the Quicksand Memory EP then? Or has that been shelved? Suppose I'll find out in the not too distant future. |

This is how I felt also about the album. I am really TRYING to like it, but I am struggling to really get into it the way I have with the other Schnauss albums... |
