Of course it is! Girls like confidence, what kind of impression do you think you're going to convey if you're not even able to ask her out personally?
All you have to do is say "Want to go out Friday night?" looking straight into her eyes. If she says "no", she would've said "no" over msn anyway probably, so what's the difference? |

Less potential awkwardness, and any girl worth a damn won't care how you say it, especially if she likes you back. |

I was assuming that the guy actually does like her and wasn't just grasping and desperate for any little crumbs of attention he could find. If he is in fact desperate, he should probably get his own life and confidence together before trying to date anybody in the first place. Very few girls will want to deal with a clingy dude. |

Don't act like it's a date. Just ask her to hang out and see where it goes. If you make it sound easy, it is.
Or B:
Ask her out point blank, and then you have your answer as to whether or not she likes you. Done and done. |
