| Last time I checked in this country a Jew, Christian, Muslim, Chinese, Church of Satan are all considered equals and offered the same treatment. Most ex Christian run hospitals I know offer Kosher meals, I've even run across Rabbis and Meshquias (spelling?). A Muslim would never be forced to eat pork. Sweet merciful Christ on a moped, do you really feel that persecuted here? Come on, you act like we want to grow little mustaches and expose the Jews to Mein Kempf. Seriously...ridiculassss. |

As I mentioned before, it's the absolute linear thinking of many people in the jewish community that worries me. White-European born "Christian" Canadians (aka the majority) do not have the right to think in such linear terms, and just think if we did, there wouldn't be any Jews/Muslims/Chinese/All-Nite-Guidos here in the first place, it would just be boring ass British/French descended brown haired people like myself :p |

1 )the last time the jewish community gave a about someone else ... let's see when the muslim school in st laurent got trashed did the bnai brith not post up reward money to any information leading to arrest of the criminals.
2) it is just as, if not more so sensational to post this article then it is for a jew to bitch about how their 10 years old school got firebombed the quebec media is full of bull articles about muslims and jews and blow these way out of proportion.
3) what they where up in arms about was having sharia law at the same level of authority as the local courts and if you choose to research more you would have known the issuing of religions certificates and the upholding of sharia law is not the same and jewish courts by jewish law are clearly stated to respect the will of the country they're in so even thought it punishable by the religious court to open shop on saturday the religious court have no authority since the canadian goverment allows it to happen.
4) if i were kosher and went to st mary cafeteria and asked for a kosher meal i would not recieve it because they dont carry it and i would most likely get told off to go to the jgh

i love canada but how safe should i feel when when my schools and community centers get attacked , my cemeteries get raided , my friends who wheir kippas get mugged for nothing more then being jewish etc whether people want to hear it or not as safe as canada is there are improvements to be made funny how no one made explicit dissaproval of tags comment of burning the jewish general and death to israel these things are common all of a sudden. dont tell me if not happy to go home because in that case if your not happy with jgh then go to another one the statements are interchangble |

| You have less chance of these things happening here than in Israel. There are bad apples everywhere and for sure its wrong....BUT treating minorities specially and allowing certain laws to not be applied isn't the way to gain acceptance. The principles of equal rights mean all the same not different. When I was a teen I worked at Camp Bnai Brith near Ottawa. I wore a cross and they asked me to take it off. I did it out of respect. The day you force people to eat what you say, even if you can pay for your own...thats going too far. |

You may not recieve a kosher meal from their cafeteria, but you wouldn't be kicked out if you brought in a Kosher meal of your own.
The schools that were firebombed, how many casualties were there? When I walk around in the west island and see anti-english spray painted on the walls of buildings or in the tunnels I dont get up in arms about it.
I did do my research and I'm glad you refuted my point concerning Sharia law, since if you want to get into specifics, the jewish law's "marriage" system is in total violation of the Marriage Act under Canadian law, it is punishable by fines and yet the law is overlooked day in and day out.
And in concern to your "schools, cemetaries, community centers and hats" why is it so nessecary to live apart from everyone else? Why are they YOUR schools, cemetaries, etc etc. I don't think the Jews are any more special than any other minority here and should be damn fortunate that you are allowed to have all these things that you claim are "yours". However, to be so naive as to think that everyone will just be jolly holly with your idea of what it is to be a jewish Canadian.
Sensationalism, you yourself have used it in 2 posts now, the Jewish community in it's entirety is entitled to it's exclusivity and constant infrigement on rights of others, and it isn't blow up in your face news, (And it really isn't, just cause there is a thread about it on TA doesnt mean its on the front page of the gazette, or on CTV/CBC)

kk and that differed from my opinion how i agreed from the begining my only concern was the improper implentation of equal rights (ei when the minority treats the majority unfairly its a new item but when the majority s on the minority its expected for the minority to give up everything! to fit in. cmon man this is nothing but fueling a fire that separates the country even more canada has a everchanging demographic and is struglling to find its identity amidst a world changing into a more politically correct bull idealogy.
it is up to the courts to find a viable common ground that we as canadians can agree on.
as for your bnai brith cross story that really sucks and shouldn't have happened but i cant imagine a rabbi or iman walking into l oratoire st joseph with tefillin etc and till the days both we find a way to surpress both forms we have to all be carefull not to divide minorities and make them feel like strangers or temp residents |

1) there were no casualties cause they happened at night during holidays had they tried during the day the probably would'nt have succeded considering most jewish schools have security at the front(which is sad enough but my school received more then one bomb treath while i was there)
the reason there are jewish schools are the same there are catholics
people want to learn about their roots in schools properly and dont tell me equal acess crap cause the goverment barely gives anything to private schools and this also a recent thing which the schools can easily survive without and which btw im against goverment handout to private schools.
2) anglos did get up in arms over the inequality of french english
ever heard of mordechai ritler and howard galganov.
and yes violence is something to speak up about trust me as small as you may think jewish anti semitism acts in montreal its not man
and its a growing problem i wouldn't expect you to undertstand but take if from who gone through this before more then once in my lifetime . and if it is it b hard to find but out 5 active posters on this thread 1 made explicit anti semtic remarks and another one made a somewhat debatble comment minus two jews and tell me that how to minority of ppl feel . When 30 % percent of ppl in quebec think 911 was cause by jews you know somethings wrong in the mindset of ppl we as small as this minority may be there vast improvements that averyone regardless of religious affiliation shoudl denounce |
